DMV Home Design sanded, stained, and sealed our hardwood floors beautifully. The floors had been discolored by sunlight, leaving a big rectangle where carpets had been. DMV did a great job making the floors an even color once again.
Williams Professional Painting is amazing! They are easily the best contractor we've ever worked with! They just completed a month-long project at our home that involved painting most of the interior of our house and our patio, as well as a wide range of carpentry work and repairs. From beginning to end, it was a first-rate experience. Our first contact was with Yanize, who came to our home to discuss the job with me. She was very knowledgeable, personable, accurate, and kind and gave us a quote very soon after the meeting. She then set us up with an excellent crew, led by foreman Arturo. Arturo was the absolute best foreman we could have asked for. He is very very skilled, has amazing attention to detail, is a great communicator, and could not be nicer to work with. I had many questions and some changes throughout the project and he worked with me on every single thing until I was satisfied. He also kept the project on track and it finished the exact day he said it would. His crew was first-rate and they work they did is outstanding. We also worked with their very skilled carpenter Gustavo, who refurbished an exterior door for us, updated all our interior door hardware, and re-secured our wobbly bannister. Gustavo is like a magician - his work is so good you can't even see how he did it. He is also really kind and great communicator. In addition to this excellent team, I interacted with the company's president Rick Williams and was really impressed by him and how genuinely important it was to him that we were happy with the quality work and the outcome of the project. It was incredibly refreshing to work with a company that cares so much and delivers on each promise they make. Williams Professional Painting did that for us. We'll always be grateful to them - and definitely hire them again.
Williams Professional Painting lives up to it's name. I've used them for both interior but mostly exterior painting. They are highly professional, businesslike but personable, do a quality job on time/schedule and deliver what is contracted for. They are not the lowest bidder, but the end result is excellent. I highly recommend them for customers like me who want to have confidence in a job well done.

I have used Williams twice for exterior painting and repair of trim on a brick house . The first time I think they did a good job. The second time things did not go as well.
First, it was a huge pain to get them to complete the job. The painters left without painting a dormer even though this was part of the contract. When I raised the issue, Williams claimed that it was too hard to access and it didn’t need painting anyway. They offered me an extremely small discount which would not have been close to enough to hire someone else to paint the dormer. When I pointed out that they agreed to paint the dormer in the original proposal, they then agreed to come back to do it.
A better contractor would have either identified the issue upfront or done the work as agreed without this unnecessary back and forth.
Second, some of the trim repairs have failed after less than 3 years. I don’t know why these repairs have failed, but it looks as though they were not properly sealed. So while the paint has held up, the trim that was repaired is in very bad shape and will need to be repaired again, with the trim repainted.
Third, they failed to paint the door the correct color, which required me to repaint it myself. When I pointed this out to them, they said they got the wrong color paint and they used what they had. This is the sort of excuse I would not accept from a DIYer let alone a professional painter charging premium prices.
All in all, I don’t think Williams’ work is up to the price it charges. It isn’t terrible by any means, but it is also isn’t great. You will need to watch over what they do, and some of the work will be subpar.

We chose Kitchen Cabinets & Beyond to remodel our kitchen after having used them for our master bathroom and bedroom several years ago. Emad is very easy to work with and had continuous contact with us from beginning to end. He came and met with us to discuss what we wanted done in the kitchen. Instead of a complete remodel as far as a new footprint for the kitchen, we wanted to reface and get new countertops and backsplash. Emad guided me through cabinet door and drawer styles, backsplash, colors, etc. We had wanted to do something a bit different with our upper cabinets and hood over the cooktop, so he and his cabinet maker designed a bridge to connect the cabinets and clean up the look we had previously. The cabinet maker, Ahmed worked with my husband to design a freestanding wall cabinet for an empty wall. He beautifully designed and crafted the perfect cabinet and it is exactly what we were looking for, matching the new look. Installation went very smoothly. We are very happy with our updated kitchen! We used Kitchen Cabinets and Beyond to remodel our living, dining, and family rooms. We wanted hardwood flooring in the living and dining area, put up wainscoting, reface our fireplaces, and have mantles built for both areas. Emad came to our home to discuss what we wanted. He worked with us to help choose materials and the look we wanted. We met with him and his cabinet maker, Ahmed several times to narrow down exactly what we wanted in the custom wainscoting and mantles. It was very much appreciated that they took the time to make sure it was right before Ahmed constructed the wainscot. For the living and dining area, we had a beautiful French oak herringbone pattern wood floor installed, beautiful custom wainscoting throughout the room and also wainscoting panels covering the old upper bricks on the wall of the fireplace to match. Beautiful marble refacing on the old brick fireplace itself, and a gorgeous custom mantle. The room was exactly what I wanted, and we’re so happy. The room is gorgeous and lighter and brighter. We receive many compliments from friends and family. The family room fireplace also was refaced with a different marble, cut in smaller pieces that gave a different look from the living room, and Ahmed also made a custom mantle exactly how I wanted. I highly recommend Kitchen Cabinets and Beyond for any remodeling needs. Emad is great to work with, and Ahmed a talented craftsman and installer.
My Husband suggested that we use KCB for our down stairs remodel. He had previously used them for new flooring in a building of ours and was happy with the results. Mir and his team were great from start to finish, I highly recommend them. They reinforced the beams of my 100+ yr old brownstone, replaced and renewed the entire plumbing, drain, and sewer lines, and installed everything up to code in the bathrooms. In the middle of have our bathroom remodel by another company, We find out that they could not customize a vanity the way we wanted and need it. Therefore, we contacted Emad, and he was only to happy to help us. He customized an 80 inch vanity with counter top and sinks( three or four inches taller than the previous one). Also, he sent one of his guys to help us raise the light switches and medicine cabinet when the company we were using wanted a lot of money to do this when it should have been covered in the price we were paying them. Because Emad did a fantastic job, communicated with us and helped us in our time of need, we will certainly use him and his company for our future remodels and upgrades.
Had to post re the astronomical estimate they gave us to paint a few cabinets. I'm sure this company does great work, but we were able to get an estimate from other companies in Alexandria, also with 5 star reviews and 100+ reviews, for a fraction of a cost -- over 75% less! If you have money to spare, I'm sure they do a great job. But for the average person the cost is highway robbery. It would actually be cheaper to buy entirely new cabinets given their estimate!

After a lot of painstaking research, my husband and I hired the crew at DC Home Remodeling to redo one of our upstairs bathrooms and our kitchen. I am renovating my Condo in Alexandria my space 1473 square feet. I was in the market for luxury vinyl flooring and floor tiles for kitchen and master bathroom. They will be coming back to install our trim and do a final touch up once the bathroom, flooring and kitchen cabinets are in.

My experience with DMV was both pleasant & more importantly, detailed. My Rep, Latif was very thorough & patient in guiding me in the most valuable direction for material selections & design. I was very satisfied with the entire process. The real gratification will be in a few weeks when the Wife returns to see her new bedroom flooring from carpet to a now completely new hard flooring. I believe she’ll love the surprise!

When my general contractor couldn't deliver the kitchen cabinets they promised Guilin was there. We had been delayed and without a kitchen for months. The team at Guilin felt our pain and got to work. The cabinets are an absolute upgrade from what we were going to get, they are designed, have fantastic features, and look great. We asked for a custom hood that came out beautifully. When we had to make adjustments they came back and redid their work. They had a group text going that we could use to get status. When they said they'd show up, they did! When we needed something done urgently to get our appliances installed they came in on Saturday. I highly recommend this company for your remodel work - I certainly wish I'd considered them for my whole project.
Guilin helped me out a ton! Scott in particular was a pleasure to work with. Their showroom is so nice and clean and spacious. Definitely worth a visit!

Exceptional service from day one until our kitchen remodel ended. We looked at several companies but ultimately went with Guilin because they were honest. We love our kitchen and will definitely use them again for our next project.
I made a down payment on a carpet to be bound and cut. They were supposed to call me when it arrived. I thought it might have taken a long time because of the shipping delays in this country. When it got to 3 months, I called and they pretended not to know anything about it or have a record of it. I brought in my copy of the contract and they said they would get the carpet cut in a week or two. Again no one called me and I got in touch with the owner who said I could get my down payment back. When I went in someone I had never seen or talked to insisted that messages were left for me and I hung up when they called me. That was a complete lie. I said okay if you have the carpet I'll take delivery and all you have to do is remove the old rug and lay the new one. That was refused even though the initial salesman promised to lay the new carpet. I don't think they really had the carpet I ordered and that is why they refused to install it. They just wanted to keep the down payment which is pathetic as it is a relatively small amount . I think you must have to promise to lie to customers in order to work there.

They helped cut panes out of a fixed window to fit a casement AC unit and separately patched a hole in a separate window perfectly with plexiglass. They were one of the few companies who were able to help in such a short lead time - came to inspect the job on the weekend and it was done a few days later. Mir is an absolute expert as his craft! Many contractors came to my home to do an assessment of my project and most didn’t have the skill or experience to do what I needed. Mir basically came in with tons of confidence he knew what needed to be done and didn’t waste any time. Williams Professional Painting exceeded expectations... again! This is the third time we have used them for work in our offices and two office remodeling jobs. We just completed remodeling our Woodbridge office where they framed new door openings, new counter openings, demolition, repaired entire walls from equipment being removed. Their team was in there with halogen lights to make sure their drywall finishing had no imperfections. They worked through the weekend, evenings and early mornings to make sure we hit our target opening date, which was only a two (2) week window. I purchased a fixer upper home in Staten Island that needed a total rebuild as my first house from the basement to the roof and I requested quotes from many companies, I like I to think I know when I’m getting the run around from people who are trying to over quote me so when I ended up calling PGS they offered me a very reasonable quote and even helped me with The comprehensive planning it would take to get my house up and running as fast as possible, they helped me make major decision as to the layout of my new home and I’m very happy with the decision we made together, I had an appraiser come to the house after all the work was done and we had more than doubled the value of the property, I don’t typically write reviews but I felt PGS deserved it.
If you are going to have work performed by this company, I would STRONGLY recommend being present throughout the entirety of the job. In my recent experience with the company, the proposal formulated from the beginning was not adhered to at first. Long story short, had I not been present when the flooring installation guys arrived to replace rotted, saturated flooring, they would’ve simply covered it up and moved on. I serve on the Board of a 75-unit condominium in Washington, DC which was in need of modernization. The building, approaching 20 years old, had dark lighting, dated furniture, and damaged walls throughout. We secured a number of quotes from firms that promised to provide an attractive refresh of the property's common areas, but ultimately selected Williams Professional Painting for their excellent communication and pledge to work within our budget limitations. Throughout the multi-month renovation, Rick and his team provided regular status updates and went above and beyond to share updates with the community so they knew when certain areas would close. The Williams team is incredibly detail-oriented, ensuring that all work was inspected by the foreman and proactively touched-up as needed. Although the company calls itself a "painting" company, the Williams team did SO much more for our building, including re-building outdoor PVC fencing that needed to be replaced, constructing custom gym cubbies, installing modern lighting, replacing roof tiles in the gym, creating a custom wall protection system, and renovating a bathroom. Williams Professional Painting is now our go-to for all building-related improvement projects and we highly recommend them to any commercial building that values quality and a commitment to staying on-budget.

We had Hagerstown Floors do our kitchen. They were very helpful getting us samples of flooring that I couldn't find anywhere else and ordered in samples multiple times. The price was fair and the workers who installed the floor were very careful moving the appliances on and off our hardwood floors and showed me how the pattern would look laid in different ways. They did a great job installing the vinyl floor and cleaning up. Our kitchen is not large and very chopped up so this was not an easy install. So why only three stars? The new kitchen floor is a quarter inch higher than the floor it meets in the dining room. They provide a flat threshold. My husband wanted to install some wall molding and asked if they would just leave the threshold and we would install. That was a mistake, we should have let them install the threshold, reject the threshold once down and ask for a reducing threshold, but we didn't. So once we realized the threshold they provided was not going to work we called but they already had their money so I was told they would talk to the workers and the suppliers and they could have another made but there would be a charged and they would get back with us, which they never did. Now if this was a threshold you could buy at one of the home improvement stores it wouldn't be a big deal but our threshold was over eight feet long, it was custom. So we found a woodwork shop in Hagerstown and had one custom made that reduces the height so you don't catch your toe every time you walk from one room to the other. We could have went back and paid Hagerstown Floors again for a custom red oak threshold but we didn't want to give them any more money since they didn't get back with us or try to work the problem out. Hope this helps someone in the future. But once again let me state, they are nice people, the workers are good and careful so just make sure you have what you want before the final payment.

Extremely unprofessional. Had them come out to review our project. We are replacing our entire stair system and require the stair and risers to be refinished. We are ready to sign. The owners son came out and walked out and said he doesn’t want to take our work. I’m guessing it wasn’t large enough for them. This has been such a frustrating experience

Williams Professional Painting is great! The staff are all very nice and communicative from the scheduling to the painting to the followup. I needed drywall repair for several old anchor holes and a couple brackets that had punched through the wall.
They sent one of their foremen, Bryan. First, he was so courteous, wearing a mask and putting on his shoe covers. He of course covered my floor/furniture and taped off my hanging items that I didn’t want to remove. He did a great job! The wall looks brand new and he even worked with the paint that I had. I unfortunately didn’t have enough, but he quickly went and purchased more of the same, no problem.

We had a truly awesome experience from start to finish with everyone from Dorsey Brothers. We had extensive renovations to all bathrooms, re-carpeted bedrooms, stairs, and main level living converted from linoleum/carpet to porcelain tile. Todd who specializes in tile work did impeccable work. He was very meticulous, tidy, and ensured it was a job well done. We were offered a great selection of the best quality flooring I’ve ever seen in a showroom and was given advice selecting colors and styles. Hands down, if you’re looking to have a home project done to perfection, Dorsey Brothers is the place to go!

We decided to go with kitchen Cabinet and beyond when we decided to remodel our kitchen . We got an estimate from 4 different contractors but we decided to go with KCB because of the quality of products and the reasonable cost and the great design vision that Emad had. We had a good experience with them through the project .Reliable , honest ,clean and stayed on schedule ..we are very happy with the end result .It was a whole transformation..
Poor building practices, these guys did not follow building code in short they built us a unsafe structure. Construction had to be redone by another company because their work would not pass inspection. They were cheaper then most and so was their work.
What a nightmare. This outfit came in and ruined our floors, installed flooring 3 inches too high ruining our fireplace and dishwasher access, made the floor too high for our counter access, ruined 5 hardwood doors by cutting the bottoms off. Everything needed removed and repaired. Someone that knows nothing about flooring could have done a better job.
The last straw was when one of their employees attacked our son with a hammer and the sheriff department needed to be called and arrested the employee. I'd avoid them like a plague.

We had the best experience with Dorsey’s. Their workers were amazing! We had new carpet installed in 3 rooms. They moved the furniture, put everything back in 2 days and cleaned everything up. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend :)
We are very pleased with Dorsey Brothers. We had a small repair job that needed to be done quickly. Mr. Dorsey came out the next day when we called, and in less than a week our wood floors were repaired. He was knowledgable, quick, and sent us qualified workers. We would use their services again in a heartbeat and highly recommend this local company.
My roof needed to be done last year because I had some leaks. I got a lot of estimates from different companies, but all of them were giving me some crazy estimates.I was talking to a friend of mine when I was in NY and I told her that I was looking for a professional but affordable roofing company. She said that she had the right people in mind...Sino Empire Restoration...they did her roof couple of years ago and she was so happy with their work. So I decided to call them and they came to give me an estimate here in CT {no charge...that's commitment..). They gave me a great price and I agreed. They were professional and finished in time. The roof now looks great and did not leak at all this winter. They promised to give me a good deal for my sidewalk too and I am going to call them as soon as I save some money. I highly recommend them.

My parents have used Dorsey Brothers over the years for certain projects on the house and they have always done a great job. When I was looking to have some work done, I knew I could trust them. Everyone I worked with from the guys that did the work to the girls in the office were wonderful.
