My mum is still waiting for her blood test. The nurse went on break during the time of her appointment. Ridiculous! We've been waiting 30 minutes so far.
Never had a problem with any of the doctors.
I wanted to update this review and mention Doctor Iqbal. He has been proactive, supportive and professional. He is kind and understanding and genuinely cares about your wellbeing. He wastes no time and gets referrals sent off immediately and treats the illness rather than just the symptoms. He answers all questions informatively without making you feel like you're taking up their time or made to feel stupid. He is the best thing that has happened to Stopsley Village Practice since Doctor Tomlinson retired.

PLEASE READ THIS ALL THE WAY THROUGH:
I have been at this practice for over 30 years. At times I have been left extremely frustrated and angry and have had to make a complaint regarding the Male nurse practitioner, who thought he knew better than me or my consultant on how to treat my condition and was basically shouting at me! I put in a complaint and my consultant wrote to the practice confirming how my condition was to be dealt with. It had the desired result and I received a formal apology from one of the partners.
HOWEVER I recently experienced some EXCELLENT help and care from a new Dr there, Dr Iqbal. I came back from holiday very unwell. He conducted a number of tests and we found out within a week what the problem was. I was prescribed medication on the day I saw him, and medication after the tests results. I have been referred to another department at the hospital and he was nothing but compassionate, kind and helpful. I saw him again and had a telephone appointment with him yesterday to follow up.
The Drs have a really hard time at the moment, they are working all hours, as evidenced by my NHS app on my phone, checking test results even on Saturday evenings, when I had a result returned and prescription sent to the chemist.
And by the way any pharmacy can access your prescription from the system when it's urgent, you provide your name, address and DOB. They are all trying to do their best in difficult times with little funding.
Receptionists are a different ball game, and most of the complaints are about them. I note that a lot of them are younger than the average age for a Dr's receptionist but they are also trying to do a difficult job. It's frustrating to be kept on hold when trying to get through when feeling unwell, but they are probably dealing with some difficult people. I wonder just how many calls they have to deal with each day? Be kind.
