Hackensack Health Department

This is a complain about the lady named GLADYS SWANTON, she likes to do unofficial sanitary inspections to intimidate workers, she’s a very rude and disrespectful person who like to show off her “ power” she flat out lies about false reports and a person with those ethic shouldn’t be part of the health department. I’m looking to file a official report because this isn’t the first time she’s disgusting rude to the employees of the Hackensack deli.

They typically don’t answer the phone but it’s probably due to them running the office AND seeing patients at the same time- so always leave a voicemail and they always get back to me! The nurse is so sweet here and provide great services to people in need of them. Definitely affordable i appreciate this facility and what they do for others

Staff is very helpful. In order to get birth certificate or non genealogical records you can call and make an apt. I called and left a message and they were great about calling me back. A lot quicker than submitting request online.

I called twice to get help with getting information for the Covid-19 vaccine and both times I spoke with Shelly and she could not have been nicer. She even went to go and get more information and called me back. Really great service!

No one answers phones even though the hours clearly say they are open. I am unable to pick up my infant's birth certificate without an appointment. How am i suppose to schedule one if it always goes to voicemail after calling 10 times in a row? How am i suppose to get my childs own insurance if the health dept. dooesnt answer me so i can get the proper documents? I cant wait more than two months; after his newborn insurance runs out. So people just earn money there by sitting at a desk ignoring the phone? Unbelievable.

I read A LOT of negative reviews about the HHD. I have to say my visit and interaction with the staff was nothing but professional. They were polite, friendly, very helpful, they work quite expeditiously and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Kudos to the staff for proving the naysayers wrong.

After saw some negative reviews on google, I went there with same expectations. But reality was something else. I entertained with warm welcome & I got my daughter's birth certificate within 5 mins. I appreciate the services provided by the Department.
