Called before come in. Was told no appointment needed for license, it’s only needed for the second time. But when we invited the witness and arrived, we were told we need the appointment even for the first time.

NY Department of Health contracts VitalChek to obtain birth certificates. After placing an order for $80 to get a birth certificate that is needed, VitalChek's email states it will take 8 months to receive a copy and they are not permitted to provide a refund. No help from VitalCheck to get the needed birth certificate and no help getting a refund. How is VitalChek legitimate?
They are very rude and disrespectful
It’s 9am and no guards because they’re under staffed and one is changing his clothes . Why make an appointment when you won’t even be let in the building let alone seen at your appropriate time ? This is comparable to the foodstamp line and sadly everyone here is working class people .
I ordered a birth certificate from here recently and because I didn’t pay attention to something I was having a hard time getting it. I spoke with Laura and Beatrice and they were both awesome. I can’t say enough nice things about these two ladies!
WOW.. I EVEN TOOK A SCREEN SHOT OF IT BEFORE I SENT IN THE ORDER, AND GUESS WHAT. IT CAME BACK WITH THE SAME ERROR AS THE FIRST TIME!! I'LL BE DAMMED IF I'M PAYING MORE MONEY THAN I ALREADY PAID. I CLEARLY DIDN'T MAKE THE ERROR YOU GUYS DID. ONCE AGAIN I'M NOT PAYING. YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO FIX IT.
To be honest the whole process was pretty easy I thought that it would be long and painful but it only took me about 30 minutes or so to go through the whole process of getting a replacement birth certificate It seems as though they are doing some type of construction on an outside of the building when I went but it wasn't too hard to find the location security guards inside were helpful
This place is awful. You make appointments and still wait hours and hours. I traveled over a hour and paid $100 in parking. The staff has no sense of urgency for all the people that waiting and standing for hours because there aren’t enough seats. There’s 8 windows and only 3 people working, they may want to consider not scheduling so many people if they don’t have the staff to assist in a timely matter.

Tax money being wasted. These people just dont want to work. 4 marriage licenses a day? You have to wait for 3 months for the simplest of paperwork and obtaining a marriage license?

NOT the NYC Dept of Health. The city needs to correct their Google map listing to 125 Worth St. Security just helped me to find correct address. This is ridiculous how many departmental city buildings have inaccurate listings on Google just wasting people's time!!!!!
I reached out to the DOH three years ago regarding Dr. Kristen Mailand, from East Setauket Ny, and her negligence towards my elderly father. After continually trying to contact them for over a year, they stopped returning my calls. I just received a letter today stating the case was closed due to all of the “evidence” provided in favor of Dr. Mainland. What evidence are they speaking of? I was never asked to provide any of my proof that supported what they did to my father. Three years later another Drs negligence lead to my fathers death, and once again another Dr got away with it.

They are making changing my information so difficult. This is NYC it should be easier to get name and gender marker updates. I’ve sent literally everything I have. They are horrible. If I can get a passport without this update I’ll just consider it lost. 3 months for nothing.

Warning to visitors, particularly out of state visitors: Even if you are a conceal carry holder, the NIH police will steal your firearms and throw you in jail if you legally have a firearm in your vehicle when you approach the gate. They don't even ask if you have anything. They just start searching through your vehicle and will not allow you to leave.
After they release you from confinement, you will be forced to make multiple trips back to the area to appear before a federal judge. At the end of the process, they still don't return the property that they stole.
They do this to people on a daily basis, sometimes to multiple people in a day.

Scheduled a blood donation. I was never sent the email with the follow-up information to access the donation site. Called back back spoke with the supervisor he assured me the email would be sent and it never was sent if you'd like to donate blood consider somewhere else

Time to have some changes made with this agency. They’re completely oblivious to anything and Covid proved they’re just unable to handle any health problems. One example… the ONLY STATE in the USA that requires judge, doctor, or attorney authorization for DNA testing (for medical, parental, ancestral). Are you kidding me?!?
I think you guys don’t check the time of the patient been in the er in any if the hospital and do have a big negligence as i have been in Elmhurst hospital er for almost 4 hours and still no one has just cleaned my freshly cut wound and i am still waiting here . For first aid if i have to wait this much time I wonder how long it takes if its a serious case
The non-human reception did not answer my need. Yesterday I ordered a smoothie that gave me food poison. The deli was uncooperative.

I reported that my father and another patient in the Seaview Manor Home so-called care center endured mistreatment from a patient aid/attendee. The aid tried to hit my father and another patient. Two weeks after my father reported it to me he was dead. They never did tell me the cause of death and sent him to a different morgue than where I was told he was at among several other discrepancies. The NYS Dept. of Health did a mediocre investigation and provided no written report. Trash...such a sinful fake front of an administration. Wasted tax payer dollars for certain.

I'm trying to get my 22 year old marriage certificate corrected because the clerk screwed it up. Nobody answers any phones, and the certified forms I send must be going into a black hole. This is making me ineligible for insurance coverage thanks to the department of "health".
They turn u away even if you have an appointment for covid.
You upload a ton of documents which includes the information they request yet they say it's invalid. It is almost like they don't review it at all. The process of getting health insurance is confusing and frustrating for even the average and computer savvy adult.
If I could put zero stars I would. I am a 13 year old girl and one of the lady’s that worked there talked in a very awful way to my mom and I. My mom was asking her a question when she just hung up! Then we went in person and it was just as awful in person. I was talked to very badly to. The lady’s name was Doris. Overall, I do not recommend. Please don’t go there.
DISGUSTED. You call during these difficult times for helpful information and you reach NO ONE. Just an automated system that tells you no one is available to help and hangs up on you.

I'm a medical professional myself for an unaffiliated organization, and I chose this place be an inpatient for my rare disease. The nursing staff and other supporting disciplines for inpatients are incredible—responsive, compassionate and encouraging—and most importantly, they take the time to treat each patient like an individual human. My specialty team is among, if not THE, most knowledgeable in the world about my condition. The amenities are excellent; I've been particularly enjoying the library, but there's also art, entertainment, a relaxation room, therapy animals, acupuncture and a host of other recreational activities to aid patients and/or families mentally and spiritually as they address their medical needs. Last but hardly least, it's highly rewarding knowing that while receiving such cutting edge care for myself, I'm also participating in research to optimize treatment for other patients in the future. I hope you and your family never need a place like this, but if you do, this is the place to be.

It is listed here as a hospital which is open 24 hours. Beware, it is not! As we drove up to the gate with a medical emergency (severe dog bite), the lady which answered the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she claimed that she was the supervisor, and made it clear (in a passive aggressive way) that she was not interested in updating the research center's description online. Do not go here if you need to get to a hospital! Misleading description.

This is not the Department of Health. This business is now run by NYC Health + Hospitals. People are wasting their time traveling all the way to Astoria, only to be turned away. Please remove it as a DOHMH site

This is not the department of health. Full stop. You cannot get medical records, restuarant records, birth records, etc from here. Do not come here expecting to get those things... go to 42-09 28th street instead.
The process is organized not optimal way, I had to stay in 3 lines to get the birth certificate printed and signed spending 2 hours.
But they have nice electronic kiosks to create request so no paperwork is done manually.
And the staff is actually helpful if you have any questions on the next steps.
