The zoo was a fantastic visit. My mother was visited from Florida, enjoys walking, watching animals, and absolutely enjoyed this zoo (as we all did). The only unrelated issue we had was the recurring payments for the zoo membership as they would stop after a a few months. We didn’t feel like dealing it, but this is still a five-star visit! We couldn’t be any happier!

I visited with my daughter and her school last week and it was overall a great experience.

They are re-vamping at the moment, but you can still have a good time despite aesthetics.

My daughter was so happy to see the animals so I cannot complain. It was fun and educational. Thank you! :)

We are from out of state, visiting SA for a basic training graduation and got the city pass, our favorite thing was the San Antonio Zoo. It was so nice and a lot of animals to see. We had a great time. And we had no kids with us. So even adults will enjoy.

The San Antonio Zoo has gone digital. You have to scan the QRs code around the area to buy your tickets on your phone, or if you park in the free parking garage, there is a kiosk on the ground level and you can get tickets there, I believe.

I will say that for the $30+ adult admission price, I felt the value wasn’t quite there. The zoo is pretty big and spacious, but the price is steep considering the number of animals and exhibits. There are also up-charges for the Kangaroo crossing area, giraffe feeding, and several other things. With the high price of admission, I would’ve expected the kangaroo crossing to be included. I can understand the giraffe feeding being extra.

All in all, it’s a great zoo, but try to find a special discount or pricing. Also note that during the month of November, they feature a salute to heroes and they offer free admission to active duty, veterans, and retired military. They also offer 50% admission for up to four military family members. Just FYI…

Worst zoo I've ever been to anywhere. Overpriced even for a zoo, money goes into their new entrance and not the animals or guest experience. Pay for a ticket or membership like I did, to still have exhibits blocked behind yet another ticket you have to buy. I have a membership that I will be canceling for multiple reasons. We have gone multiple times a month and still haven't seen all of the animals. Simply because their habitats are so bad, the animals would rather stay inside than be out in their overgrown, rundown forgotten enclosures. The pathways are so old and worn down that they are extremely unsafe. Going uphill by the rhinos, the hill is so bad that it has many trip hazards on the ramp, sharp 2" inch concrete protruding by underground access in the middle of this ramp. Making almost impassable by strollers and impossible for anyone by themselves in a wheelchair. The other hill close to the concession stand is almost a 40-degree ramp about 20 feet long with broken concrete and metal slip strips to try to help with the incline. All the walkways are rough. These just stand out and are serious hazards. Exhibits look like that one house in the neighborhood that hasn't cut their grass in years. Seriously, the exhibits are horrible and not maintained. It's sad to have animals living in there. Lions and Tigers exhibit is so bad that the animals themselves are never out and always inside. When they "deep clean," they use BLEACH with animals right next to them. I watched a zookeeper carelessly throw the empty BLEACH bottle next to a bird, and it got scared and flew away. I got pictures after she threw the bottle. Don't waste your money. The zoo needs to be closed down to fix these many safety hazards and probably desperately needs new management the way it's looking.

Animals were active enjoying the fantastic weather. Saw active Lions, Tigers and Bears (oh my!) Everyone was friendly and sharing viewpoints for pictures to best see the wildlife. Habitats were well kept and animals looked healthy. Great day at the zoo! Get tickets online, it saves time at the gate. QR codes are available on the walking path.

What a beautiful place to watch all the animals! The entire staff throughout the zoo were so friendly! For a small fee we paid to feed the animals which was an amazing experience. You can definitely see how all the staff really care for the animals and want to educate you on each animal. It was a great experience overall!
