Saigon Sonne

This got to be a great pho in the city. The broth is balanced yet clear and light. The sirloin beef is tender. The noodle is al dente as well.

We ordered Saigon Menu and it was really delicious. The portion was good for 2 person. They bring us first soup and then one big plate with all foods. I just thought price is a little bit higher but I guess it is normal because of the location. It is in the center. If you want to eat Vietnamese food in Heidelberg I definitely recommend it 😊👍
Edit: we visited second time and learned that the menu also has a dessert. So don't forget to ask for dessert 😅 everything was really delicious.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant.
The Vietnamese coffee was good, it wasn’t overly sweet. My friend and I liked it enough that we each had 2 cups.
I had the sautéed beef pho which was flavorful. I couldn’t taste the traditional spices in the pho likely due to the sautéed beef. The Bo La Lot was so tasty and I highly recommend it. The papaya salad was fresh but bland, I couldn’t taste any fish sauce.

They have menus in German and English, the staff spoke Vietnamese, German, and I assume English.

Authentic viet food! Tasty & freshly made! So expect to be a little patience but food well worth it!

Friendly welcome and nice atmosphere but food were unfortunately mediocre. Pho was oily and the duck hoisin has some strange taste or texture perhaps that made our tongues and gums hurt. Not sure whether the sauce or the crispy texture of the duck that caused the weird after effect. Price was okay around 15-20€ per person. Location wise it’s situated in the middle of the city so convenient to reach by foot from other stores. If you happened to explore the city centre

When i found this restaurant it’s like I have found a gem. Considering Heidelberg being a relatively small town in Germany, we did not think that it would have a decent asian restaurant.

Saigon sonne exceeded our expectations and all their dishes were exceptional!!
We ordered:
Fried duck with hoisin sauce (10/10)
Beef with curry sauce (8/10)
Fried rice (9/10)
Spring rolls (8/10)
Fried wonton (8/10)
Pho (8/10)

Highly recommended, and definitely will be back if we visit Heidelberg. Luckily it was open on the New year day too!!

The dishes were incredible. You have to try the red curry sauce with the fried duck 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

All others were amazing too!
