Mario and his mates did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, music, food and a good time had by all. Loved it.

Make sure to try the flaming chorizo and superb pork dish.
We came to Faro on a Sunday and we parked our car at the free parking lot near the old town.

On a Sunday, quite a lot of restaurants are shut. We chose this one based on the high rating on Google Maps.

It is situated in a very cute alleyway. When we arrived, the weather was amazing so we were sitting outside. We stood there for a couple of minutes no one served us so we just picked a table and sat down.

The menu is on the chalkboard. I couldn’t understand much. I just looked at the photos on Google Maps and picked what I think is tasty. Waiters can speak English and they are very fast.

We picked fried octopus, shrimp and pork stew. The flavours of the octopus is very rich and tasty. However, the texture of the octopus is a little bit chewy. Overall I t is still very good. The beef is full of garlicky taste. The juice and the oil are very suitable for bread and boiled potato. The stew pork it is recommended by the waiter for our toddler kid. It is tomato, base juice and full of herby flavour. The pork is so soft and indeed kids can eat it very easily.

I would recommend this place for your first meal in Faro.

A family of three we spent around €65-€70 On this meal.

Probably my favourite place in my Algarve visit. A wonderful little tapas bar in the castle/museum grounds in Faro. Everyone, including the tourists, loves it. It's a lovely place to take a break from the walking round and sample the food and drink. I ended up sitting there for about 1.5 eating and chatting over 🍻.

Good food, good wine, very friendly staff with strong sense of humour, reasonable prices, cosy atmosphere. We had dinner there, octopus, sausage, beef and shrimps were delicious! We were offered a tasty shot of a local drink. It was an enjoyable experience. Don’t miss Old Tavern if you’re in Faro!

The first evening we were to late because of a late arrival. But we went back, waited 30 min, and had a great diner and evening. Squit, cheese, meat and burning sausage.

The music was kind of loud because we were under the speaker.
The staff is having fun and making it their party.

Place to go when you visit Faro!
