Old Tavern

This place offers authentic Portuguese cuisine with a relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent and friendly, but the food was the true standout. We enjoyed the grilled octopus, shrimp in buttery garlic oil, and pork stew — all of which were delicious. The sangria was light and refreshing, a perfect complement to the meal.

Old Tavern is a small yet beautiful restaurant located right in the heart of the town.
Our experience there was outstanding, thanks to the delicious food and excellent atmosphere.
We tried various Portuguese dishes, all of which were exquisite. I'd like to highlight the Pica Pau for its tenderness and perfect seasoning, as well as the shrimp—my personal favorite—for its very tasty garlic sauce, for which I had to order extra bread.
Additionally, they had a fantastic playlist that added extra charm to the already special atmosphere.
I highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent restaurant, authentic from the food to the vibes, cooked by a talented woman who cooks with love, surely! The food is so good, so delicious, the vibe is very special, service is great. A true GEM 💎 in Faro! We came here on Thursday and today (Friday) we went back. We tried shrimp, mussels, pota, octopus salad, sausage, and the artisanal bread, everything was delicious! Their wine selection is small, but on point, my parents truly enjoyed their wine. Well done, guys! Great job! It’s worth more than one visit

I was really satisfied with this place, from the fast, friendly, and knowledgeable staff to the well-maintained, outdoor location and the food.

The food is excellent, staying true to traditional Portuguese cuisine with some modern touches. The prices are absolutely fair for what we ate, with top-notch quality all around. If you’re in Faro, I highly recommend having dinner at this restaurant.
