Been heading up there past 40yrs since 10yrs old, it "was" a fantastic beautiful off the grid family 4x4 camping now every gate is locked by ACTgov!!! Roads closed locked gates thanks ACT gov ! Typical gov mentality ! Sad when my children ask, why caint we go to the FREE SNOW areas anymore? Because gov makes $ off everyone's free fun! 4x4 fees! Camping fees hell even fosic fees!

Beautiful mountainous heavily wooded forests, too many locked gates but it's hard for beaurocrats to open the gates and give us freedom of our own Forests

Camped at McIntyres Hut. At 8pm 10 cars rocked up and played heavy bass music till 1am. Seems to be a party spot. Toilets where schmicko and the Rangers had some pre cut wood next to the fire pits. Was happy with that. Individual experiences may vary depend on the type of neighbors that come through that day.

3 large camping areas beside running water with well managed grassy areas and deep shade sites. Can get busy during long weekends but very quiet and relaxed in between times. Only 1hour 20minutes from Canberra over winding mountain road.

Great 4wheel driving. The tracks are normally well maintained.

Beautiful park, there are a lot of 4WD trails to explore. Snow at the right time of year, camping and rivers. A great way to get from weejasper / yass to canberra
