Called in for our last drinks on a day trip and could have quite easily stayed in there all night. Snug af, with the best atmosphere of all the pubs we called into. (I didn't eat here, but rated 5 stars cos the bait is bound to be good)
Came here for a quick lunch and to try the fried mars bars as we heard they're amazing :)
Ordered some nachos and the Mars bar.
The wait for a table was very long since but it's not a surprise considering it was a cold Saturday afternoon. Whe sat outside after a space freed up and the wait for our food wasn't long at all. The food was tasty and the mars bar was so so good, highly recommend.
We loved the nice touch of the mars bar placement, definitely made us chuckle.
Overall a nice experience.

We've had some incredible pub and restaurant experiences in Edinburgh thusfar but @dirtydicksedinburgh has been our favourite by far. Kind staff and patrons, located on Rose Street, dog-friendly, and incredible food. The poshfish and chips were exquisite, haddock, sides of pickled onions and peas, brown sauce for chips. Rose had a Beef Pie with mashed potatoes and beef gravy and kale and roasted parnips and carrots. We had a sticky toffee pudding as dessert. Absolutely stunning tip-to-tail.
What a brilliant interior this pub has. You could sit there for hours and check out all the random stuff up in the walls. Really friendly staff and the selection of whiskeys they have is outstanding! There will be a whisky for everyone here, that’s for sure. Didn’t have any food but it’s smelt and looked fantastic. If you’re in the area it’s definitely worth stopping by.
Did not eat so can't comment, but the nachos looked immense! Great bar staff, who didn't faff when they were busy. Excellent!
Really love the atmosphere is pretty unique. Can't forget about the fun name. The steak pie and chips was the first thing I ordered on my trip and it was delicious. Really enjoyed the beer on top and whisky
Great pub on Rose street. Dark and old on the inside, and these are good qualities for a pub. Surprisingly delicious macaroni and cheese, which I didn’t expect from a pub. Large whisky menu.
