Loved it here. So much to hear and see. Migratory birds from all over. You never know what will show up. Plovers of many kinds. Artic terns were here in last couple days. Very well laid out and card for.

Gorgeous spot for sunsets, bird watching, collecting rocks, or just relaxing. Lots of unique rocks and stones that you will not find anywhere else! There is a small boardwalk that leads from the parking area to the shore.

Truly one of the best birding sites in the US. Piping plovers were easily seen on the beach in the 3d week of May when I was there. I missed most of the spring owl surge but check their Facebook/internet sites for info on when they are owl banding and when you can see the owls get banded. Plenty of other great sites in the vicinity that are also must sees, The shipwreck museum across the street, Taquamenom falls, and Seney national wildlife refuge.

Nice beach lots birds , bathrooms kinda dirty. Path was workout and wooden logs half buried in sand so easy trip. But was great spot.

We were not able to pin down exactly where the observatory is and who staffs the place? We failed to get details before making the long journey. Loved the nearby Gr Lakes shipwreck museum & lighthouse.
