WOW! Well worth seeing. Not only the beautiful views, but the history of Whitefish Point shipwrecks. We have been to many lighthouses around Michigan, and this one is one of our favorites

Whitefish point lighthouse is always a joy to visit. The grounds are always clean and I haven't visited at a time where there are not plenty of people visiting as well. The beaches and grounds are clean and I have not been disappointed in the cleanliness. The weather has always been pretty good when I have visited. I don't always return on my yearly visits because there is so much to see but this is absolutely a location I will return to in future visits.

This review is for the location/beach only since we didn't go into the museum or lighthouse. We basically spent most of the day there rock hunting, hiking, and enjoying the sights. We really enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend visiting.

The oldest working lighthouse on lake Superior. The shipwreck museum is interesting and they have a little movie about the Edmund Fitzgerald that runs every 20 minutes. Walk down to the beach and swim in lake Superior or collect rocks. Unfortunately the light tower itself is no longer open for tours as it is a working lighthouse but you can still go through the museum there.

Lake Superior! Beautiful beach, Canada is far off in the distance. We were too late in getting here and everything was closed already, but we still got to walk the beach and collect a few rocks.
I have been going to Whitefish Point for many years. The area around Paradise, Michigan is very scenic and the beach at Whitefish is no exception. I enjoy rock hounding here. This beach can get a bit crowded (by U.P. standards), but a quiet stretch of beach is only a short walk away. Very clear water.
