The name to go to when finding an apartment in Manhattan: Diana Babayeva.
I had come out of a really bad housing situation and needed to find a new apartment quickly… I made an inquiry on Streeteasy a little past midnight to which Diana followed up that same night.
Not only did Diana make my move in process simple and easy but also advised me in my prior housing situation. This is someone who knows the residential market very well in all aspects that would effect a renter. To this day, I go to Diana about anything real estate related.
Thank you Maz Group. Not only did I have the most seamless NYC move but I got a wonderful friend out of it. Especially in real estate, one persons actions do represent the whole firm and Diana’s actions only put this firm in the best light.

I can’t express how amazing my experience has been with Maz Group. Michael Mansfield in particular! After a long dreadful and exhausting apartment search over the past few months and countless of brokers and countless of deals and apartments falling through, I was becoming really discouraged in my apartment search. I finally came across Michael who helped me extensively through applying to my dream co-op apartment. He was there through every step of the entire process and made everything extremely simple, easy & as stress free as possible! He was highly professional, willing to answer any and all questions & really helped to push to get me approved for the apartment and fast! (Anyone who has applied to a co-op before knows how dreadful all the paper work can be but he truly made the process as seamless as possible.) I also ended up only paying a low fee unlike the usual 15% broker fee. Can’t thank him enough!

Not the type of person who usually leaves reviews but considering the ordeal that is buying property in NY, it kind of felt obligatory. I reached out to Maz Group based on some positive word of mouth and I could not have been more pleased with the service I received. As a first time buyer, I legitimately went into the process knowing nothing. I thought that expressing that information would make me vulnerable but Maz Group (and more specifically Alex) addressed every concern I had and kept me informed the entire way. What was supposed to be a daunting and challenging process turned out to be seamless and, dare I say, kind of enjoyable. Could not be more satisfied with the service I received and wish there was an option for leaving more stars. Alex, Charles, Maz Group as a whole, you guys rule. Can’t wait to hit the Mega Millions so I can use you for future purchases.

My roommate and I worked with Diana Babayeva in finding our first apartment in New York City. Diana was very helpful not to mention very patient and understanding. She went out of her way to also mention helpful/important things about the area we were looking to move to as well as answer any questions we had.

My partner and I had an excellent experience working with Diana Babayeva. We moved cross-country to NYC and only had a few days in the city to schedule viewings and sign a lease. From the start, Diana was professional, friendly, helpful, and communicative. Every communication-- from email to call to text-- was very helpful and timely.
We found a unit we were interested in, reached out to inquire, and Diana proactively showed us all the floorplan options that fit our needs/budget within the building. She was attentive and asked specific questions about what we were looking for; shared her honest opinion about the building, property management group, and neighborhood; and was clear about lease terms and what to expect in NYC realty that a newcomer to the city might not know (ie, tenant's rights, building specifications, utilities, commute, timeline and documents for application). From start to finish, we had no problems working with Diana and any questions we had were answered promptly and clearly. BUYER / RENTER BEWARE. I highly suggest looking for another unit to buy or rent if you are doing business with the Maz Group, specifically Michael Mansfield. I’ve rented several apartments in my life, and rarely is the experience of searching / moving into a new apartment perfect (especially in NYC) but this was the worst experience I’ve had in my life, by far. Michael created several false expectations (lied?) during the rental process. First, he called and told us we got the apartment we put in for. Ten minutes later he called back saying we didn’t get it, but there was an apartment in the same building that was becoming available that week. We viewed the apartment which was occupied by tenants at the time. We were concerned about the apartment being ready on move in day, and he told us it would be ready (“pristine” were his exact words) within a few days of the least start date. He told us to bid over asking price for the apartment. We did. Then he said we needed to pay the broker fee if we wanted the apartment. I regrettably made a split decision to pay the broker fee. A full week after the lease start date, the apartment wasn’t anywhere near move in ready. The paint wasn’t finished, there was dirt and grime all over the floors, walls, every surface of the apartment, among several other issues. While it falls on the landlord to have the apartment ready for their tenants, I at least wish Michael was honest during the rental/approval process. Looking back, it appears he said whatever we needed to hear for us to sign the agreement, pay the highest possible price for monthly rent, and pay his commission check. We’ve been living in the apartment for nearly two months and there is still a significant amount of work to be done- the paint isn’t finished, windows are still broken, the bathroom piping is being fixed, there are broken bulb sockets, doors off their hinges, we have been without gas for over a week, the list goes on. I highly recommend finding a broker that is truthful to their clients and represents a landlord that cares about their building and tenants.
