Riley Hospital for Children

My experience here was awful. I enjoyed the way the nurses cared for the children and the doctors were fantastic. Everyone truly cared and that was amazing. My problem was the organization, non medical personnel, and all around condition of the hospital. The communication was horrible. We had nurses and doctors all giving us different and conflicting information. Our surgery was over 3 hours behind. Also, afterwards we were at one point told we were ready for discharge and then shortly after a resident entered and stated he thought we should stay over night. The nurse then brought us paperwork for discharge, then we had to explain the situation. He then stated he had no idea and was told that we were good to go. We then waited an hour before he was able to find the resident and speak with him. They then proceeded to tell us that we should stay. We agreed and then waited two hours to be put into a room. The room was filthy. The family waiting room was a disaster. Any staff that was not medical personnel was rude as could be. We went down to the cafe to get food and when we were checking out the lady didn’t say a word. We didn’t know it was self check out. Instead of explaining this, all she said was “you gonna scan it or…” needless to say I wasn’t excited about her help. The staff in this place is very unfriendly and avoid helping you in any way.

We were in the NICU with our babygirl Sage. We had Makayla & Sarah & Gianna & Aime most of the time. They took good care of our little girl and will forever be grateful for these ladies!

Brought my child here they are awesome they made him feel very important while doing his IV they also did all kind of test to make sure he feels better before leaving they have an awesome team. Of staff

I was a patient at this hospital when I had Wilms tumor very one was nice to me. The nurses never made any major mistakes and even the minor mistakes were fixed right away. My doctor was extremely nice and got my tumor out without any issues I am not sure why this place isn’t 5 stars and only 3.6 which makes me really sad because this hospital was great to me and my family and saved my life.

Everything was good.( Staff,) Doctors , Social workers and Nurse was amazing. My experience with lactation was good at first until some misinformation able my medical records almost gave me a heart attack 🤧😂. Was relieved to find out it was false.

Too many different opinions. Fib about vitals when I have medical background myself. Also have documentation of every event. I know how to read these things. Kept turning off machines when “something wasn’t reading right” said that wires were switched around on some tests. But yet my baby is still blue in color they don’t know why. Think nothing searious had a brain issue and they also said not serious. Baby O2 was dropping to 69 dr said baby would had Been unconscious if that was the case. Poor communication. One nurse was super great she trust that his O2 was fine but she was attentive and very helpful. They think nothing is wrong but yet being sent home on a heart monitor. HMM. People stated this is the best hospital in the world but yet have no answers to passing out baby stops breathing and even turns blue.
I’ll agree to dis agree on this one.

Do not bring you infant here! Brought a 2 month old baby here who has a cough and is struggling to breath. Been sitting in the waiting room for 2 hours and because we asked how much longer the lady behind the counter thought it funny to say it's gonna be longer now. Once we finally got seen they doctors in the actual ER were very proactive and concerned. She is very sick and was admitted. Out front staff and triage nurses need some training on bedside manner and not being rude.
