This is the actual entrance with the official ticket booth. A bit hard to find. Make sure you don't confuse it with the carriage museum entrance further north.

Yogyakarta is a hotpot of culture, the total publicly accessible area is just a fraction of the real palace, the is still the residence of the sultan from which a small part is made accessible to public. You can enjoy gamelan music, traditional dance, see some daily life activities and services being performed, you should being at least an hour of time with you (or more if you want to enjoy and see all exhibits and displays), you can get a english speaking guide (with extra cost),

Very beautiful palace complex with intricate details and carvings. There is a temporal exhibition showcasing the Keraton culture. Many locals in Javanese traditional outfit will gladly guide you, some of them also speak English

Haven't visited The Kraton Yogyakarta in years and there are lots of improvements in the collections. They still have lots of stuff to exhibit though, i hope they'll be available for us to see in the future.

In general i did enjoy the visit. Saw some dancers doing lesson, a few collection of Royal Tea Cups, Royal Weddings, and there was a special exhibit on Spices.
