This is a place that I have wanted to visit for a long time and finally I had the opportunity to visit one of the must-visit places in the city of Jogja.
Besides that, here you can learn history and enjoy performances in the in the huge hall. Inside, there is a museum with various collections and items of relics of previous kings.
And, the building is very magnificent, well maintained, and the Abdi dalem's are very friendly with tourists.

In Yogjakarta there lives the Sultan, HRH Hamengkubawono X.
The Palace is open for the public and is worth visiting however now there is a construction and not every part is accessible. Many pupils and students come here and are supported by local guides.
Servants of the Sultan are around also.
There is the main entrance and you will be helped by local guides to find it easily. Surely there are many who want to sell you transport or stuff, but that is part of the program 🤪

11am performances, vary by day, I saw Javanese dancing that was quite lovely, aside from that some simple but pretty buildings and a museum to the local sultan. As a tourist I didn’t find any of it noteworthy except the performance, if you come after noon you just get the other stuff.

It was a great experience. The palace with immense historical value still intact, both physically and the convention.

It's a must visit place in Yogyakarta. The entire complex is beautiful. There is a museum with photograph of the royal weddings and clothes which is interesting to see. There is huge hall in the middle where singers sing and musicians play the traditional instruments throughout the day. In between there is dancing too by the dancers in their traditional attire. The expression on the face and the delicate hand movements is a treat for the eyes. Enjoyed my trip thoroughly.

I was excited for this due to many good reviews, but I was disappointed. As soon as we entered there was a huge crowd, watching some sort of an Indonesian dance, that's I wasn't able to watch properly. I loved their customes though. I tried to have a walk around the place after, people working there were asking me to take off my hat even the sun was super strong for no reason, I was in the middle of a garden and as far as I know, nothing religious. Most of the places are off limits, so there is literally nothing to see much. I don't think it was worth my time

The palace itself was really quite nice. Unfortunately, the area is surrounded by touts and touristy shops. It is also quite confusing to determine where everything is.
We wanted to go to the palace but instead were pointed to a ticket window that ended up being for the Carriage museum. While buying tickets we were approached by a friendly young man with an ID badge offering to show us around. Disappointingly, he only showed us a local batik art shop and disappeared. Perhaps it was our failure to communicate effectively.
Regardless, we ended up in a shop and it took some time to find the actual palace ticket office.
Quite a frustrating visit.
