Love this place. If you are in Jakarta do check it out. If you can manager to in the afternoon and stay until 8 or 9pm you will not regret it. Live music and a fun atmosphere. There are loads of people seated in the middle of the square surrounded by colonial buildings.

There are a number of museums around the complex for you to visit. Restaurants and even foodcourt are available for those who wants fancy meals or on budget meals 😃

The historic district with the Dutch colonial architecture is amazing. The huge Square is full of vibrant, colourful atmosphere, including Street, performance and band playing live music for karaoke participants. Lots of museums and even a building housing. A ghost train… The Plaza, vendors – one in particularrenting very colourful bikes with matching oversized hats and scarves added to the party like atmosphere. We really enjoyed an afternoon here. We ate at Batavia restaurant which is an old world Restaurant overlooking the square great food but a little expensive. But you pay for what you get the food was sensational. And of course the venue was amazing.

One of the tourist attractions that is never empty. Sometimes they hold events there with lots of booths full of local brands. I love it at night here! A large and historic place with strong links to the colonial era. I can't say it's worth the visit, but if you want to visit, choose a cloudy day or visit in the evening. Then you can take the opportunity to walk around the area.
