Al Ameen Grocery and Halal Meat Market

I’ve been going to this store for a while. These new owners have taken it over and not running it with fair business practices. 1, They don’t have prices on a lot of the stuff in the coolers. 2, They tried to over charge my wife on an Indian squash by charging her $13,99. When my wife realized this she went back into the store and asked for the receipt and they told her to come back the next day, after being adamant they finally gave the receipt and issued the refund. 3, When I went in to buy heavy cream they had it priced at a lower price on the shelf in the cooler, when at the register they told me that lower price is for the smaller size and that they don’t have the smaller size. The larger size had no price listed. 4, The meat is mislabeled on their dates. I understand the butcher leaves before the store closes and he probably cuts up enough meat for the closing shift and the opening shift but why mislabel it at all? The meat I bought is listed as cut on 3/1/24 and I bought the meat on 2/29/24. Makes you wonder what else are they mislabeling and hiding from customers. FYI I’m posting this on 2/29/24.

I was searching the fresh meat shop in the Houston area for a while. I tried meat from several grocery stores too but Al Ameen has the freshest one.

I was expecting a greater variety of meats, but it's a small store with limited options. But, the goat meat I bought was very fresh with good prices

I had a horrible experience at this store. While checking out, the cashier was shockingly rude. He made inappropriate comments about my body and BODY-SHAMED me. I remained polite, but instead of confronting him, I asked him to reflect on his behavior and wished him good luck with his rude attitude of him. I asked him to pray to get some sense. This experience was extremely hurtful, and I won't be returning to this store. Where is the human decency??? And specially someone who is in a customer service role? What a joke!!!!!! Shameful.

Good convenient store with Middle eastern, Pakistani and Indian grocery and Halal Meat for the neighbourhood. Saves you a trip to Hilcroft.
Butcher section needs to be updated and cleaned properly though, smells as soon as you enter the store.
Attached restuarant too, but didn’t try that.

Well you don't have to worry about looking at Halal labels when you buy from here. Quite friendly and guiding. Just heat and ready to serve stuff was also available. Nice experience .. 5 stars..

A little bit pricey... clean, great collection of spices...friendly professional associates.....they have the best halal chicken ...
