Do you feel respected when you are not called a Marine but the distinction must be made that you are a WM? The truth is you deserve more respect and honor.

I feel the Molly Marine Statue is a touching tribute to all women who have served in our military. This is the first statue to be erected of a woman in military uniform. It was cast in concrete and marble, in 1943. Due to war time restrictions bronze was not available. Molly stands talk with her binoculars in hand, as though looking to the future.

A nice dedication

Constant reminder of what ALL Marines should strive to emulate. A must see for anyone with a passion for our United States Marine Corps. Piece of history and one of three, the other two being located where female Marines are traditionally made, allowing for a fine tradition recognizing the graduate who most emulates the qualities of Molly Marine.

Thanks you

Did anyone notice that Molly is holding the binoculars backwards?

I hope it never goes away! I am a native New Orleanian and a women Marine. I never knew about this statue until I became a WM (woman Marine). I am so proud of my heritage, both as a New Orleanian and a WM and hope that this historic landmark remains unchanged for posterity. The Saenger Theater (next door) is also an awesome historic landmark (that I hope never goes away as well). Semper Fi! & long live NOLA!
