Gear Hut

Gear Hut is one of our favorite spots to frequent in Reno! They have great adventure gear and apparel and the employees are awesome!! Highly recommend checking them out.

I love Gear Hut with my entire heart and they are the best store to make its way to Reno. They have truly impressed me with the amount of quality outdoor gear and while making sure they stay true to sustainability. Their consignment model not only provides access to affordable gear but also actively reduces environmental impact. They recently got some sitka gear that was exactly what I've been looking for but was way out of my price range normally, and thanks to them I got an amazing deal so I can go enjoy what I love to do, but this time warm. Love u Gear Hut, never leave :)

My husband and I love Gear Hut! They provide used outdoor gear at great prices and have such a wide variety of products to offer. They prove that getting into new outdoor activities does not have to be expensive! My husband taught two of our friends to ski and brought them here to get some used gear to start with. They each got skis, poles, boots, and a helmet for under $200 per person! My husband even got a high quality mountain bike here for such a good price. We have also brought some of our own used gear here and the process is seamless and well-organized. The items sold quickly and this definitely beats trying to sell things on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist; you just drop your gear off and they take care of the rest. Big fan of their green initiatives and commitment to sustainability. They also sponsored a park in Reno. What’s not to like?! They are always sharing great things on their social media page about ways to get outside in Reno/Tahoe and about their current deals in the shop. The staff are friendly and down to earth. They are all super knowledgeable. They even pay their employees to get outside with their pay to play program! We tell a lot of people about Gear Hut and will always continue to support them!

I love Gear Hut! The team is always polite and helpful. As a frequent consigner, I receive honest feedback on items I bring in; they let me know what's useful to buyers and what's popular. Rusty and his crew are very knowledgeable about all sorts of equipment and gear, so I trust their advice. Also, I enjoy shopping there! I'm an avid camper and hiking enthusiast, so I know I'll find what I need at the shop.

Gear Hut is my favorite local small business. I have been consigning and purchasing here for years. I have found too many great deals to count.

I feel so much better selling my gear here than dealing with Facebook Marketplace, their customer service is fantastic, and their website for consignment is so easy to use and see what has sold. I would highly recommend coming here before visiting one of the other retail giants. They give a portion of their earnings every month a “non profit of the month.” Thank you for giving back to the community and encouraging people to recycle their gear before buying something brand new.

Always a great experience going into Gear Hut! The workers are super friendly, they always have quality gear, and they are affordable! It’s my favorite place to shop. They are also very active in the community, hosting cleanups and such. Such a gem in the Reno area!

Fantastic used gear store!! They always have an impressive variety of gear and at good prices. I tend to assume consignment shops will have things priced too high to be worth buying used, but not so! I always enjoy coming through, whether I am looking for something specific or just curious what's currently available. The staff is incredibly friendly, too. Very grateful to have you in Reno!
