Nice Park with parking and river access, and a boat launch. We even have a rope swing when the rangers aren't looking...

The most important thing to know about Ambassador Park is there is no park. There is a parking lot and there is a path to what used to be a grassy park with a park bench, but it has been allowed to go back to nature. There are no facilities of any kind and it is a small area. That being said, the surrounding trails are beautiful.
Open during sunlight hours. Parking at the northwest end of Ambassador Dr. There is a ports-potty in the parking lot. The river is a minute walk however access isn't that great.

My cousin lives not far from Ambassador Park. Good place to go to be alone and gather your thoughts. It’s quite so it’s good to be alone or with love ones to have picnic and it’s free.

One of my favorite places for photoshoots. Great for walking dogs too. I've seen deer there quite a few times. There's wild blackberries that grow along the path. The area is beautiful at sunset.

FYI - The path straight ahead of the parking lot is a bit isolated in some areas so I always keep my head up, but I've never really felt unsafe. Just feel it's worth mentioning.

Oh and sometimes you can lose service in certain areas.

Maybe I shouldn't glow about this for fear of bring more people, but it's my second favorite spot on the American River in the county. Beautiful (self explanatory), Mysterious (oaks), Majestic (major bend). The only minus is the spillway, and that's not so bad.
