Really nice state park. Worth the climb up the monument to look around. Cool remnants of the old inn and mansion.

March 2023. If you think NJ is just the Turnpike, head up to the Northwestern corner of the state. At an elevation of about 1,800 ft you can enjoy views west into Pennsylvania, north into New York state, and east across valleys of New Jersey. Dress warmly, the area of the monument is very open and can be windy.

The property has numerous trails, including a section of the Appalachian Trail. In summer the lake is open to swimming at a designated beach area.

One of the best spots for fall foliage, take a scenic route to the monument for best views. The beach was okay, the water was not so clean.

Excellent day for a walk at High Point State Park. Great weather. No crowds just the beauty of nature. Stopped in to tha Park office and had a nice conversation with Ranger Vicki who was very friendly and informative - lots to explore!

Amazing place, as its name High Point State Park; you will find yourself at a little height. High Point Monument is at 1,803 feet above sea level. I heard that this is the highest elevation in the state.
The view is incredible and full of natural beauty. The place is clean and is so vibrant and stunning, Park is full of hiking trails, streams, waterfalls, Various trail, many parking lots, lakes to enjoy in water. The best way to admire the beauty is capture them in photos. Monument is a one of the attractions point for visitors. Incredible planned place to have fun with family or friends or love ones. I avoid to have food over there in COVID-19 but I think they have restaurants too.
High Point offers:
Natural hikes along with stream walks, Trails with various options, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, dogsledding mountain biking, horseback riding. (As per their website)
Swimming (Please check the swimming schedule prior to your visit), bathhouse, food concession adjacent to the beach, Boating at Sawmill lake and steenykill lake. Fishing in High Point’s lakes streams.
High Point State Park facilities are partially accessible for persons with disabilities. Best time to visit High point in May. One can drive to a parking area and then access the open platform of the monument to view the surrounding area.
