The Park Monroe Apartments is in a prime location! The building is well maintained and the team members are truly amazing. It’s close to the metro station! Pet free community along with underground parking for residents. The resident courtyard is extremely relaxing and bikes have their own home in a secured room! Thank you Ayla and Tyler for the amazing building tour!

the location of the building is nice if you want a variety of restaurants to choose form, and it's near the metro. the bus also stops in front of the building. the bad part is this, if you're afraid of bugs DON'T move here. The roaches are huge, and they run fast, like Usain bolt speed. don't bother trying to kill them, you won't catch them. just learn to live with them and hope they don't crawl on you when you're sleeping.

The management team here is great and very responsive. The building is well kept and clean. I would recommend living here. Ironically, I have never seen a bug in my unit.

Coming up on two years living in a studio in the Park Monroe and I've had a great experience so far. The apartment is barebones with no frills, BUT there are tons of perks to living here. The entire staff including Ayla/Emmett, the front desk security guards, and the maintenance team are all extremely kind and helpful. I've never had a maintenance request take longer than a day, and the office staff are so accommodating. I never hear my neighbors (thick walls), I've seen ONE tiny bug in my apartment in all of two years, and it has a great view and access to both Mt. Pleasant and Columbia Heights. My only complaint and that the kitchen sink is very small, with no sink hose or dish washer. I really have no other issues with the apartment or the building. Other than that, I think this is one of the best deals for the area and I really enjoy living here.

Lived here for 5 years and loved it, to be quite honest. It certainly is no luxury complex. There is no pool, rooftop, lounge, business center, etc. The building itself is extremely old but I also rarely heard my neighbors or any other noise in general. The management was always wonderful, prompt, attentive. Notable people were Norma, Julian, Ayla, Emmett - to name a few. Maintenance requests were always attended to in a timely manner and the place was always kept clean and smelling nicely. Never once did the laundry machines in the basement damage my clothes or cause me major issues. My only gripe was the sheer amount of people who smoked pot in their apartments and filled the hallways at times with the smell, but that eventually got tended to. Oh, the surface lot parking area gate that always seemed to have trouble opening whenever it would get really cold. Pricey for what you get, but good for a DC experience. If you’re looking for a great location and excellent management, I highly recommend.

I lived at the Park Monroe for almost 10 years. It is a very nice, clean building. It is an old building, but not an old run down one. Really good old construction, thick walls, I NEVER once heard my neighbors. NEVER saw one roach, bug, mouse etc. in 10 years. Good and responsive office staff (at least when I was living there), good maintenance, janitorial and security staff. Office closes around 5 pm M-F and security on the front door from like 6 pm to maybe 1 am everyday. It is kind of no frills though, laundry room in the basement and most units don't have a dishwasher. Nice bike room for storing your ride. They say they have a gym but that might be stretching it. They have free weights, two treadmills and a stationary bike. Close to the metro, 3 major bus lines, easy walk or bike ride to most everything. Finally moved because 1) after 10 years I needed a change and 2) I started to feel ripped off for what I was paying. I get that DC isn't cheap but the rent just started to be kind of ridiculous for what I was getting. They say it's rent controlled but that doesn't mean the rent doesn't increase, it does and it got to the point I couldn't justify paying what I was paying for a studio apartment, no matter how great the location and neighborhood was.

I can't recommend Park Monroe enough! I lived there for almost 6 years (July 2015 - April 2021), and I absolutely loved it there. The onsite management has always been wonderful, and the property/custodial/maintenance staff are lovely. I never had any real issues with my unit, and when I had minor issues (like a clicking stove) the property management folks had things fixed within the day. Beyond the actual property, the location is excellent - just a couple/few blocks from a grocery store, Target, restaurants, coffee shops, Washington Sports Club, and the Columbia Heights metro. I can't imagine a better apartment to live in, and I would recommend it to anyone!
