Malmesbury Fisheries

My calamari was still raw inside. My chips tasted like it was pre cooked several hours ago, and also not cooked through. Yuck

Always a pleasure to buy fish and chips here. I would suggest their ladies stockfish parcel. It is enough food for 2 plates and always fresh and delicious.

Just visit this fisheries in malmesbury. Food was terrible fish was definitely yesterday's and chips not how they use to be. I'm from Dutbanville and whenever I visit home afairs that was our go to fisheries. Definitely a drop in service and food Quality

Having been referred to the new De Korenlij outlet, we stopped quickly for two small fried chip portions this morning >10h00. I was told to wait for 8 minutes . . . it took them 25 mins to effect my simple order. Chips were very 'oily' and there were at least 8-9 small pieces of old charred chip remains in my helping. I think I am far better off to rather continue to support Tony's, at the down-town (blue building) Swartland Fisheries, where quality had been served over many moons.

On route through Malmesbury we needed a snack. We stopped here for some fries. Was a little disappointed as the chips was reheated at least once before we received our portion. It was cold as it must have been lying in the warming drawer for a good while. Some edges were fried to a dark brown and slightly bitter. On my "slap chip" scale I don't think they deserve more than 5/10.
They are a fisheries with chips supposed to be their specialty. I truly hope that this was a once off mishap.

I always buy Fillet Parcel (Hake fillet & chips) and it is fresh big hake fillet and enough freshly cut and fried chips!
Price was R86,50 when I bought it 21 December 2023. 😋 Smaller Ladies Parcel also available.

They also have fresh whole Snoek if you want to braai. Buy it whole or ask them to cut it in smaller pieces for you.

Not sure why you have a your rating. From Mozambique through Gauteng all the way down to West Coast, worst ever. Chips and calamari still half / raw... Not sure whats happening in your kitchen
