My recent tour of 1000 South Capital left me with mixed feelings. The property is undoubtedly stunning, with impressive amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. Victor, our guide during the tour, was exceptional, providing knowledgeable assistance and answering all our questions with patience. However, despite the initial positive impressions, my experience took a downturn afterward.
Upon returning home and reviewing the floor plans and details provided during the tour, I noticed discrepancies. The information presented during the tour didn't quite match what I found when reviewing everything to make a decision about applying for a residence. This inconsistency was frustrating and left me feeling unsure about the accuracy of the information provided.
Moreover, I was disappointed by the lack of follow-up communication. There were no emails or informational materials provided to take away, such as a floor plans or brochure. This absence of follow-up was unexpected and left me feeling somewhat neglected.
Additionally, during the tour, crucial details about available units weren't communicated effectively. We weren't informed about a unit that perfectly aligned with our move-in timeline, which was frustrating and left me feeling like I might have missed out on a suitable option.
In addition to these challenges, my attempt to contact a leasing agent at a later date for clarification left me on hold indefinitely. This lack of availability and responsiveness further exacerbated my frustration, hindering my ability to address my concerns promptly.
Furthermore, I encountered inconsistencies between the availability of floor plans listed on the website and those presented during the application process. This disparity heightened my frustration and cast doubt on the accuracy of the information provided by the property management. Particularly puzzling was the discovery that one of the floor plans listed on the site is currently priced at $0, contributing to the overall confusion.
In conclusion, while 1000 South Capital is undeniably beautiful and Victor provided excellent assistance during the tour, the discrepancies in information, lack of follow-up communication, and availability issues are significant concerns. While I appreciate Victor's assistance and don't want to undermine his professionalism, these frustrations need to be addressed by the property management team to ensure a smoother and more transparent experience for potential residents.

I absolutely love this building. The amenities are nice and well maintained. The maintenance and front desk staff are top tier.
We've lived in this building for 6+ months now and love it, but unfortunately have to knock a few stars.
1- We're paying a premium for northern corner unit. We were told when moving in they would be removing banner that blocks our corner window in the new year. It's almost April and we're still staring at a banner in stead of what was marketed as a premium view. Oh, and lots of caked on bird poop is now all we see out of window (see pics). I'm not sure why a banner is even needed, when the building is almost fully leased. Plus the banner is honestly ugly and cheapens the exterior experience of the building.
2- When we moved in there was a lot of turn over in leasing office which made communication difficult. They asked us for secure funds for first time literally as we're loading our truck to move over day of. I'd say the new staff has not been super responsive to questions, but honestly Lerner has not done a great job introducing new managers and leasing agent to building. I've sent emails that have gone unanswered or answered weeks later after the issue is already irrelevant.
A minus bummer, we used the shared Tesla car amenity ALOT, and it was actually a selling point for us for this building. We're bummed this is gone, but understandably not Lerner's fault as it was a third party service.
The building is definitely one of the best in Navy Yard, but when you're paying top dollar in rent, you expect top dollar experience all around.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT move here. Pretty building but thats the only luxury thing about it. They miss on the little and big things. The big things - I've had issues with my apartment (awful smell and constant clicking/dripping sound) for 2.5 months the the property manage couldn't care less. Took 2 weeks for a response to an email and constant delay tactics. Was told to cover my vents. How is that a solution? Imagine being nauseous in your apartment all the time and not being able to sleep. The small things- Can't even supply enough coffee so they put it up every night, can't keep dog treats so the concierge brings them, the towels and wipes may or may not be in the gym... I could go on, I'm sure we pay enough to manage this overhead.

I've also had the pleasure of interacting with two of the most remarkable associates at the front desk, Victor and Tray'von. From the moment I walked through the doors, they both epitomized professionalism, warmth, and efficiency, enhancing my overall experience.
Their welcoming demeanor and genuine smile immediately put me at ease, setting the tone for a memorable experience at 1000 South Capitol. Their exceptional customer service skills were evident in every interaction, as they effortlessly handled several inquiries and made all my guests feel extremely welcomed.

Amazing tour provided by Kyle and his team. Outstanding living space but the amenities are beyond compare. The gym is worthy of a $150 membership monthly fee and the pool on the roof is 5 star hotel worthy.

This place is solid. I toured just about every place in the Navy Yard and Arlington, this was the best spot. 1000 South Cap is built well, with all the amenities you can think of. Gas and Wifi are included in rent, the wifi is fast, and can stream 4k no problem, exactly what I need and that's coming from an broadcast engineer. DeMarcus, Darian and Dwayne are the best leasing agents and just awesome to work with. They made my move in smooth and easy with providing the best knowlage. Darrell for maintenance gets the job done in minutes whenever I need something which is so rare as its all perfect. Collecha at the front desk goes above and beyond and brings a smile to my face every morning. All and all, incredible staff, clean, solid, and definitely the best place to live in the Navy Yard and DC.
