The food was amazing and the brisket was to die for. Shared a platter with my wife and 5 y.o. The mac and cheese was unexpected but I loved it. I really like the atmosphere and interior, the wood bar front looked good. Best bit, there was enough for some lunch the next day. Not super cheap but you get what you pay for.
Sooo good! I’ve been to Blue Bonnet a number of times and will definitely continue going back. The restaurant has a great ambience and the smell of smokey bbq goodness adds to the atmosphere. It’s really cool that you can also catch a glimpse into the kitchen to see the chefs at work where the magic happens.
This time, we went for the Feed Me menu, which was a huge share platter with a range of meats. I particularly liked the brisket which was super tender and juicy, as well as the smoked short ribs. All the meats were skilfully cooked and were well seasoned. Portion sizes were good, we were all left satiated with a full belly.
The sides were also good accompaniments to the meat, especially the delicious creamy mac’n’cheese, and the slaws were crunchy and refreshing, which were a good contrast to the meats.
I also highly rate the cocktails, the margaritas were well balanced and delicious. They also have a large range of whiskies, which the bar tender was very knowledgeable about and provided great recommendations.
I thought that everything was reasonably priced and on par with other restaurants. When considering value for money, it’s not just about the cost of the food, but also the careful preparation, smoking time, and the many hours of effort to produce a high quality meal.
It’s also a great venue with comforting and satisfying style of food for these chilly wintery evenings or summer bbq vibes.
I’m looking forward to my next visit soon!

We ordered takeaway this time and I did notice the portions of sides were a lot smaller. Taste was fantastic as always - love the mac n cheese, miss the corn bread but the waffle is ok, love the mash, love the brisket, love the ribs … great humans who work there too!!!

Great food and plenty of it. We got the chefs menu/share platter option. The watermelon salad was incredible as was the mash potato!
The meat was cooked tender and had some alright flavours but nothing too exciting, a bit pricey for what you get when you see 3 slices of brisket for $30. I think the beef cheek and the Mac & Cheese were the stand-out dishes. Portions were good and the BBQ sauce was delicious. Hot sauce wasn't bad, not a lot of heat/spice.
Being a Sunday, there's a 10% surcharge which is understandable, but the staff weren't overly friendly apart from the bar staff who was welcoming at least.

Fair to say this is the best American bbq place I've been in Australia. The brisket was perfect, maybe could have had a bit more of a smokey flavour but I'm being very pedantic here. The smoked pork belly was great too. I'd also highly recommend the mash and the slaw. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back
I dined with a group of 8 friends and we opted for the "Feed Me" pack, which included a delightful selection of their best dishes. I'm pleased to say that the dining experience was truly exceptional, from the exquisite meal to the incredible service. It made for a fantastic evening altogether!
