Though looking quite compact from outside it's a very large, informative and interesting museum, full of original exhibits! Very impressed indeed.

Went through the Maritime Museum with Sue and Niall today and thought it was an amazing collection. We loved the Houghton Forrest oil painting.😊😁

Welcoming and helpful volunteer staff. A well laid out selection of migration, shipwreck and naval history. The Derwent Bridge and Blythe Star stories are well documented. Many highly detailed models and across the road the 1947 / 1948 Sydney to Hobart winner also belonging to the museum. Well worth a visit. My favourite displayed image attached.

Excellent collection of artefacts and pictures 📸 of bygone era. Photo of Tasman Bridge collapse inspired great discussion noting recent collapse in 🇺🇸. Good thing Australia took on board lessons learnt from this disaster

I only visited the museum because a friend wanted to, but now I'd like to go back again. It was so interesting. The gentlemen at the desk were helpful and welcoming.

What a great place to visit. We were greeted by a gentleman who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. His enthusiasm for maritime history simply infectious. The museum was wonderful, with so many pieces to look at. If you are in Hobart, it's a must visit.

Great way to spend an hour learning about tassie maritime history, I didn't realize the second world war made it to this part of the world! Very friendly and helpful people at the front desk. Very convenient to visit and would recommend.
