Stayed in Loop B. NC needs to step it up. Sight was spacious and private. Grounds work lacking. Bathrooms and bathhouse was atrocious. Absolutely no hand soap, no towels and hand dryers were broke. Shower facilities were primitive
at best. No privacy, doors basically covered shoulders to thighs, shower spray splashed the whole cubicle. No hooks no way to undress/dress without getting wet, no way to change temp, had to keep pressing time button to keep water flowing. We have stayed at other states campgrounds with much better care. NC wants people to utilize the state parks. Fix it.

If you re thinking about it and have not yet you should. We live in wake county in Raleigh. This was our very first trip camping with our camper(tented for many years as a couple). So we were excited to be close and near the lake. I had a lot of questions i did get answered so i will post them here. We stayed in the Cross winds part of the campground there are 3 loops in this facility. A loop no water and no electric it has very nice spacious sites i think very nice sites some with a lake view there are a lot of double sites in each loop some are smaller than others but the small ones are big sized. Then there is a B loop that's were we stayed in it has electric and water with a dump station on your way out.
that is my favorite loop and the nicest in my opinion i stayed at B55 and it was next to the bathroom. it was so quiet. Bring your bikes lots of kiddos riding around no golf carts are aloud either. Then popular point and loop C its electric and water and double sites as well. pets are aloud on leash smoking is aloud only at your campsite and that the same with alcohol of any kind it may only be at your site that what I was told at check-in. So there is no playground so be sure to bring the kiddos entertainment. Our little with ASD had the time of his life. hope this helps worth every penny!

This was our first time there. It was very nice, not crowded and clean.

The water level is too high because of recent storm. The ramp was completely flooded and in some places parking spaces are completely submerged in water.

A wonderful group camping location on the lake....very spacious and cared for... Staff are responsive and understanding... Water pressure on site is plentiful... Views from the campsite are what we hoped for... Unfortunately, there are planes from time to time overhead... But not bad... Bathrooms and showers are well kept and hot water is plentiful... We will definitely be rebooking again...
