Rosengarten Bern

Great views (also by the way there), nice green zone with fountains and flowers, recommended.

A great place for fast, uphill, urban hike. I believe there’s multiple entrances. We took the steep one and it was steep for us “on the weekend” hikers. It only took like 15mins of hell. The roses were not in season (sept) but a peaceful place to relax and take in the scenery. The views near the restaurant was amazing.

Lots of smokers in Europe, be prepared if you’re sensitive to cigarette smoke.

This is a beautiful garden. Good views, soft grass and a perfect place to hang out with friends. It's not a big garden but lots of place to sit and talk

Love the view of Bern from here. In the summer/spring, its also really fun to explore the varieties of roses. The restaurant is pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

Always a lovely place for a walk, especially to see the sunset. Expect it to be busy in the warmer months as it shows you the whole of Berne. The grass areas are perfect for a summer picnic as well. It is a good uphill trek so if you are walking prepare to add some time to take breaks on the way up.

A short steep walk across the Aare river from old town brings you to this beautiful park. On your way up you have the most scenic views of the river and city. Upon arrival you can take a stroll through the luscious garden full of roses and azaleas. Rest on one of the many benches or walls or have a coffee, apero or snack at the restaurant.
A truly beautiful space

A must for those that want to take photos of Bern from above. I wasn’t sure what or if any flowers would be in bloom….a bit early for roses. But do not fear….plenty of photo opportunities for lovebirds throughout the garden. Fortunately there were plenty of flowers in bloom and garden staff taking care of the plants. This garden is an easy bus ride from Bern city center.
