Basel Minster is a free to enter church located at the heart of the city. It's also the location of the Basel Autumn festival and Christmas markets. It's a stunning Gothic cathedral, stands as an architectural marvel. You can buy tickets to go up the cathedral's tower to experience panoramic views of Basel and the Rhine River. Its timeless beauty and cultural significance make it a jewel in Switzerland's heritage and a true testament to Gothic architecture's grandeur.
Zurich Zoo is an absolute gem! Our visit here was nothing short of spectacular. The zoo's commitment to wildlife conservation is truly commendable.
The variety of animals and their well-maintained habitats left us in awe. We were able to see animals from all over the world, and the enclosures felt spacious and natural, providing a comfortable and enriching environment for the animals.
It's an enriching experience for families, nature enthusiasts, and anyone who cares about our planet's wildlife.

A pretty cool church, free to enter. Don’t miss the cloister around the side! You can also get a lovely view of Basel around the back of the church.
This is the biggest museum of Switzerland! It is definetely worth it to come and have a look! The exhibits are beautiful and there is art from 1910 up to 21st century! I would recommend that you do a guided tour. Also Wednesday’s the museum is free to join so keep that in mind!
I spent around 5 hours seeing exhibitions in 2 buildings which are connected with underground passage. The ticket was 29 CHF, expensive but definitely worth the money. The collection was amazing and inspiring... If you appreciate art, this is a must visit.
Easy to reach from Zurich HB , Zoo is very huge , animals and birds well care . Enough space for them and close to their natural space. Tips : zoo is very big comfortable shoes is must ! Snakes abs water is allowed. Feed animals not allowed , to cut bamboo for home as souvenir is prohibited! There is a big shop with unique souvenirs with friendly prices !
I don‘t know too many Zoos, but Zoo Zürich must be among the best. The management is doing a great job and is constantly upgrading ans enlarging the site thanks to successful fundraising campaigns. I believe they are doing a great job in providing a surrounding for the animals that is as natural as possible. Of course, the latter is more true for the never facilities than for the older ones.
Great views (also by the way there), nice green zone with fountains and flowers, recommended.

A great place for fast, uphill, urban hike. I believe there’s multiple entrances. We took the steep one and it was steep for us “on the weekend” hikers. It only took like 15mins of hell. The roses were not in season (sept) but a peaceful place to relax and take in the scenery. The views near the restaurant was amazing.

What a phenomenal museum! Great space, first of all, every painting was given loads of room to breathe. Amazing collection and smoothly presented. All the big names are here. The exhibitions are presented in such a way that a normal visitor walk-through culminates in a climax of the biggest names and the most impressive (at least fame wise) art pieces in modern history. We must have spent an hour in the last two rooms of Monet, Matisse, and van Gogh.
And then you realize there's the second half of the collection across the street.

One of the most beautiful and interesting historical places to see in central Europe. Please go to the crypt and wait for the show, it's amazing! The show is played in 3 languages: English, German and French, each at different time. You'll see information about it before the entrance to the crypt.
This free garden is a great value for what you receive! You'll see hundreds of plants both native and foreign. There are rooms serving as biomes like a desert area, a humid jungle, and a lowlands area. There are multiple restrooms and a cafetería available if you get hungry. You could easily spend an hour strolling or half a day learning in the gardens.
What a great art museum! They have the largest collection of dada pieces in the world making in a exceptional experience if you follow that movement. There are many pieces from classic painters such as Picasso, Monet, Manet, Munch, Rembrandt, and more. There are two museum buildings across the street from each other which you can reach by crossing the street or by using the underground tunnel. Backpacks must be checked, photography is allowed, and the museum is free on Wednesdays except for the special rotating exhibit. Expect to spend 2-3 hours perusing the paintings.
This is a beautiful garden. Good views, soft grass and a perfect place to hang out with friends. It's not a big garden but lots of place to sit and talk
We just missed going inside because there was an event. We walked through the courtyard instead and on to the balcony overlooking the Rhein. It was a nice quiet area where one could relax and enjoy the view.
Zurich Zoo is known to be one of the best zoos in the world. However, our experience was extremely disappointing. The zoo is very big and can hold a large capacity of animals. But we barely saw any animals on the day. The directions weren't the most useful and it was particularly hot which made it even more of an ordeal. The inside toy train known as the Masoala express was a welcome respite and we used it often to transport ourselves from place to place. We didn’t see a lot of the indoor animals and even the whale: ocean animals sections had a PowerPoint presentation running! We went on a weekday and it was slightly crowded but no long lines. The restaurant within had a wide array of food and drinks which was quite enjoyable with a decent view of birds and ducks. We plan to go back again and hope for a better experience.
Great museum with a variety of original paintings and sculptures from world-renowned international and Swiss artists. The who is who, between classical and modern art, are represented. Everything can be seen at extremely close proximity, without major barriers. There is a modern new building which is connected by a subterranean corridor to the old Kunsthaus building. Highly recommend.
So nice!!!! It's historical and elegant! I experienced a midday prayer at this location today, it came with very traditional ceremony with some music and singings, super nice experience! And the sight of the river is very stunning too!
Very good exhibits. Decent collections such Mondrian, Monet, Warhor, Edward Munch, Picasso, Van Gogh. Definitely worth the visit. Especially Wednesday which is free entrance so can be busy. Lockers are better on the old building.
Great place to visit. Was worried about parking as I visited on a Saturday but this was very well organised and lots of spaces.
The attractions are great. Had to revise our route due to the car park we parked at and entering the park at a side entrance (hint this was much less busy than the main entrance).
My favourites were the elephants and gorillas. The gift shops and restaurants were good to.

I loved it so much!! But it was hot so I’ll prefer we go in spring but I had so much fun! And I prefer you guys go in the weekdays because it doesn’t get crowded but anyways i highly recommend going there!!
Love the view of Bern from here. In the summer/spring, its also really fun to explore the varieties of roses. The restaurant is pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
This large cathedral overlooking the Rhine in the heart of old Basel is not to be missed. Entry is free - unlike many English cathedrals. The tomb of Erasmus is here. You can visit the towers for a small fee but it means climbing many steps. Be very careful going behind the altar area as it is very dark and hard to see the steps: they should really have better lighting.
If it's your first time to Zurich and interested in fine arts, it is the must-come place for sure! Very elegant design of exhibition movements, and it's super cozy and elegant to hang around the exhibitions! Almost no border with the world famous paintings! And the best part is that it's much less crowded than some other major city museums!
Beautiful cathedral. It was closed when I got there, I was hoping to attend the evening prayer session, as I saw on the website. It didn’t happen maybe because of an outdoor cinema event. At the back of the cathedral you can see the nice view of Basel and Rhine River
Really nice Zoo, we went there after lunchtime (15:00) and there were no queues and it was super quick to get in.
The park was not too crowded at this time either, which in turn gave us a really nice experience as well.
I think this may be the reason many of the animals did not hide, so it was nice to be able to see so many of them!
After we walked through the full park, we treated ourselves a mini-safari-train back!

An amazing place and a superb botanical garden. They also arrange a lot of activities.

Always a lovely place for a walk, especially to see the sunset. Expect it to be busy in the warmer months as it shows you the whole of Berne. The grass areas are perfect for a summer picnic as well. It is a good uphill trek so if you are walking prepare to add some time to take breaks on the way up.
Super peaceful and relaxing place, is very well maintained and being surrounded by all different types of plants is super chilling. You can also bring a sandwich and do a picnic on the grass during your visit. The only bad thing is that everything is written in German 😕

Eine Parkanlage, in der Es sowohl heimische Alpenkräuter, als auch Exotische Pflanzen draussen zu bestaunen gibt. Ein Gehege mit Hühnern und Ziegen im Zusammenhang mit einem kleinen Froschteich und weiteren Teichen machen diesen Ort einem Besuch den Wert. Ausserdem bietet der Park zahlreiche Sitzgelegenheiten zum Ausruhen und die Natur auf sich wirken zu lassen. Per Tram Linie 14 oder 18 ist dieser Ort vom Bahnhof Geneve Cornavain in ca 15 Minuten zu erreichen.

One of the best museums I have been to in the world and I have been to Paris Florence New York and more. It is very well organized and easy to navigate. The buildings are beautiful and clean, with special rooms to make you feel the art. The light installation in the new building with the sound experience is like nothing in the world. You cannot go to Zurich and miss this wonderful clean curated museum.
One of the most beautiful churches i have ever seen. Loved the painted glass and the columns, the ceiling and arches.The entrance is free but if you want to go up to the tower you have to pay 6 CHF. And you will want to go to one of the towers, because the view to the river and the city is breathtaking. I never miss this part anywhere, and now i wasn't dissapointed. You will not regret it.
So beautiful! In the middle of the city of Zürich you can find this gem! In the weekends gets a bit crowded but not bad, entrance is for free! Highly recommended!
A short steep walk across the Aare river from old town brings you to this beautiful park. On your way up you have the most scenic views of the river and city. Upon arrival you can take a stroll through the luscious garden full of roses and azaleas. Rest on one of the many benches or walls or have a coffee, apero or snack at the restaurant.

A must for those that want to take photos of Bern from above. I wasn’t sure what or if any flowers would be in bloom….a bit early for roses. But do not fear….plenty of photo opportunities for lovebirds throughout the garden. Fortunately there were plenty of flowers in bloom and garden staff taking care of the plants. This garden is an easy bus ride from Bern city center.

Hiked up to Rosengarten Bern in mid-April 2023. A gorgeous panoramic view of the city is the reward for completing the uphill hike to the park. I visited early in the season and some flowers were not in bloom.
It is a large city park with flowers and water features. Great spot to linger and people watch. The park has a restaurant. It is about 10 minutes by foot from BärenPark and bus routes are nearby.

Well-maintained and a good place to relax! It’s a bit far from the train station, so you will have to take a tram to get there, but even then you will still need to walk a few more. It will worth the effort though, if you love tropical garden and hanging around in a garden in general.
There’s no entrance fee and you can spend as much time as you want. It’s a huge area you can take a walk in. You should also bring snacks to enjoy while you take in the beautiful scenery!

Amazing place, which we surely come visit again. Very easy to get there, no entrance fee. Great gardens and Tropical houses. We came in April and there was so many blooming already. Can't wait to see it in another season.
An oasis of peace in Zurich. Free entrance, a big park, and the three domes, one with tropical climate. Was a good opportunity to warm up on this cold day. Like a mini-Masoala for an in-between mindful pause.

Wow, the Alpine botanical garden is a hidden gem! Amazing place for a walk and relax in the nature while your are still near an airport in a busy city (you can here the city noises). It is small but there are many different flowers, plats, trees, bees and even goats. It is very well maintained. Calm and kid friendly place. The entrance is completely free. I am amazed it is not so popular among tourists - definitely worth visiting it!

The two Appenzells have a really interesting history of textile industry and isolation. This museum gives you a great overview of the Appenzell microcosm and it tells the story of a few famous Appenzellers.

Beautiful garden with surprising variety of plants and trees. Complete with play area for children and mini zoo with goats and public art. Very relaxing place, quieter than one would expect.
There are kid friendly activities in each level. The basement has a play area with farm houses, trees, animals, and more. The first floor has a station to create cows or roses. I mean etching with a nail and hammer; you have to purchase the gold plated cow or rose. The 2nd floor have multiple puzzles and a small little play room.
Learning more about the history of the area and the importance of cheese to the region is very memorable. They also have wares for sale and multiple videos in case you can't follow the German postings. Highly recommend if you are staying in the area. Short drive to Stein from Appenzell.

Very nice garden for different outdoor activities. Perfect place to hide below the shadow of the threes in Winterthur. Recommended for bird's garden which is real fun!
Kleines Museum
Very good museum to learn about Cheese and the history of Appenzeller. Also has excellent details about textile, farming. When we visited they had a temporary exhibition on Teddy Bear it was very cute 😊 worth a visit if you are in Zurich. ( Day trip to this museum alongwith Cheese factory and the town)

A nice small museum which shows a nice selection of cultural artefacts of the region. The price is reasonable and you can see hand weaving and hand machine embroidery live. The staff answers with patience all the curious questions.
Its a small and well maintained park with bird cages. Different types of colorful birds are there including parrots, ducks.
