I really like that the animals and birds in the atmosphere are from natural habitats!!!

Beautiful and exotic collection of animals with a very modern and humane way of cativity. It's definitely a fun activity for kids and tourists in Bern.

The zoo is quite small, although that is also visible in the relatively cheap tickets. The zoo is kept clean, staff is friendly, and it is easy to find your away around the zoo. However, it is not the most tourist friendly zoo - most of the information boards are written in Swiss or French. If you have a few hours to kill while visiting Bern I would definitely recommend visiting the zoo.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bern Zoo and I must say, it was quite an experience. The zoo is immaculately maintained, with clean walking paths and well-fed animals. The enclosures are spacious and mimic the natural habitats of the creatures living in them. I especially enjoyed the variety of animals on display, from exotic birds to majestic bears. However, one downside was the limited selection of food options on offer. Also, some enclosures were difficult to see into due to foliage blocking views or animal activity occurring far away from viewing areas. Despite these minor setbacks, I would highly recommend visiting Bern Zoo to anyone looking for a fun day out with a little bit of education thrown into the mix!

There aren’t that many animals, but the experience is quite interesting as many of the exhibits are outside and makes use of natural environments (such as the side slope for the goats to climb up and down etc) and the river outside that adds to the ambiance. I can see how families with young children will enjoy this place. But the food is quite mediocre so I recommend to pack some snacks instead of buying there, haha.
