Das neue Berliner Schloss by night. Ehemaliger Sitz der Könige von Preußen. Heute Sitz des Humboldt Forums. Sehr beeindruckend.

Ich habe nun endlich auch einmal dem Schloss einen Besuch abgetastet und werde es so schnell wohl nicht wieder tun.
2 Sterne für die historisierende Fassade.
Innen seelenlose moderne Architektur inklusive Rolltreppen.
Ich hintersteige das Konzept nicht. Da wäre der Palast der Republik an der Stelle historisch gehaltvoller.
400 Millionen Euro für den hübschen historischen Anschein und sämtliche Emotionen abtötende Betonromantik.

Following German reunification, discussions brewed over the palace’s legacy, leading to the Palace of the Republic’s demolition in 2009, paving the way for the Berlin Palace’s reconstruction, finalized in 2020, to house the Humboldt Forum museum .

Access to this monumental edifice is facilitated via the public transportation stop at Großer Stern, making the journey to the past an effortless endeavor . Once within the palace grounds, a guided city tour unveils the heart of Berlin’s royal heritage, a journey through time that intertwines with a cruise along the historic city river, adding a serene touch to the historical exploration . A hidden gem within this monumental treasure is its rooftop terrace, accessible since October 2021, offering panoramic vistas of Berlin’s iconic landmarks from a height of around 30 meters, a free endeavor accessible to all, encapsulating the city’s historical and modern-day charm in a single frame .

While the weave of history and modern-day endeavors offers a rich tapestry for exploration, the exact time to allocate for a visit remains elusive. However, considering the vast historical narrative and architectural grandeur encompassed within, setting aside a substantial portion of the day would ensure a fulfilling exploration of Berlin’s royal past and its modern cultural endeavors. The Berlin Palace is not merely a visit but an immersive journey through time, awaiting the curious and the scholarly.

Moderne Architektur mit Originalteilen das alten Stadtschlosses. Kann man drüber diskutieren, wie auch über den Abriss des Palastes der Republik der hier vorher stand. Der Ausblick von der Dachterrasse ist aber durchaus beeindruckend.

Ein gewaltiger Bau. Von außen romantisch verspielt und von innen mega modern. Mit riesigen Rolltreppen, hohen Decken und Fahrstühlen, wovon einer zur Dachterrasse mit Café fährt.
Oben auf dem Dach kann man wunderbar spazieren und bei schönem Wetter eine fantastische Aussicht genießen.
Die Ausstellungsräume beherbergen viele Schätze auf mehreren Etagen und im Untergeschoss die Berliner Ausgrabungstätte, welche beim U Bahn Bau entdeckt wurde.
Ein Ort für vielerlei Interessenten.

In den 50'ern abgerissen und dafür an dieser Stelle den Palast der Republik gebaut, der musste dann wieder weg... Asbest als Begründung zu nehmen war einfach lächerlich da in ganz Deutschland Asbest als Brandschutz und Baumaterial verbaut worden ist. Der Versuch das Schloss historisch wieder aufzubauen und mit neuen Stilelementen neuer Architektur zu verbinden ist doch meiner Auffassung grandios gescheitert. Schade um das Geld, mit den mehr als 700 Millionen hätte Berlin Besseres anfangen können. Die Pflaster- Wüste als Platz vor dem Schloss zur Straße hin ist eine Katastrophe. Die Ausstellungen sind künstlich gemacht und der Bezug zu dem alten Gebäude und zur Geschichte auf keinen Fall hergestellt. Für mich eine Enttäuschung...
