Brookside Village Apartments

I have loved living at Brookside Village for the past year and a half. Katelyn is a very kind manager and tries her best to be accommodating. The only thing I would recommend is to upgrade the apartments (faucets, tub and toilet areas, A/C is desperately needed, maybe add laundry in unit to some? etc.), which I think they're doing next semester! The apartments just seem like they need some extra renovations to get out 2012. Otherwise, BV has a fabulous ward, kind neighbors, and cozy private rooms!

I’m honestly surprised by the number of negative reviews, I almost didn’t get a spot but thought I’d do it any ways and I have no regrets! My experience was amazing and I recommend it to everyone. The staff are nice and loving! They remembered everyone in my apartment by name thus really showing how much they care for us like a family. Also maintenance always responded promptly rather than keeping us waiting. The only regret I have is not getting this place sooner since I only got this place in my last semester at BYU Idaho, otherwise I would’ve been at Brookside a lot longer by choice. 10/10

Short list of why I am not going to live here again:
1) Way Overpriced Rent it is around $2000 if you are paying month to month because they charge you a service fee of $50 and a MONTH to MONTH fee of $50 dollars already on top of your $580 dollar monthly rent (you can spend way cheaper for private rooms with better amenities at The Ridge in Rexburg)
2) Overpriced and VERY limited parking
3) you only get ONE refrigerator to share with 6 people
4) The laundry room is small and it is CLOSED between midnight and i think like 7 or 8am. so us busy college students can not do our laundry after curfew.

posting this to just provide the public with some things that have made me unsatisfied with my stay here.

Good apartment, great management. One fridge for six people at this price is outrageous though, so minus one star

Brookside (and RH) are just scam agencies. If you like getting random charges and unexpected, unexplained, unjustified, inconsistent, spontaneous fees very often, this is your place. The managers are quite useless and when they do decide to actually work, they do everything to not help you and make things much harder and more expensive. They just want your money and find any means possible to get more. Scam alert. Do not live here, unless you like wasting money, or even worse sending your money to a scam that enables them to steal from more unsuspecting students.

Brookside staff are professional.
They helped me a lot.
The apartment design is nice, new and comfortable.
I loved being there.

Brookside was mediocre overall
I lived at brookside village for 2 semesters, the apartments were great in some areas, yet were not great in other areas.

Pros:
-Maintenance was super quick, the longest it ever took for me to get something repaired was 1 day.
-Management is better than other complexes I have lived at
-Great location
-Manager is super great about accommodating ESA's

Cons:
-There is only 1 fridge, for 6 people in an apartment.
-The upstairs apartments are literal ovens, many days I found myself struggling to keep cool in the summer weather
-Contacting management was hit or miss, management was never in the office.

Advice for Brookside Village
-There needs to be a second fridge in the apartment, the fact that brookside village is one of the only 6 person apartments in rexburg that still only provides one fridge boggles my mind.
-Be more communicative about when management will be more out of the office
