Ordered the Mango chicken main for delivery, disappointed, not what I expected. The chicken pieces were deep fried into dust and basically inedible, ordered noodles instead of rice and the noodles were so stodgy. Was so disappointed because I used to love the heroshimas from the cart on Broadway when I worked downtown.

Some menu items I would definitely go back for were the mango chicken and the korokke. The udon stir fry wasn’t really worth it and the black garlic ramen wasn’t that good. I liked the service there we had a very friendly and accommodating server. Overall I would genuinely go back for the korokke and maybe to try other different menu items.

Delicious ramen, I really enjoyed those noodles with the pink swirls in them. The spring rolls were crunchy and not greasy. Courteous fast service... I wish I had taken pics but I was so hungry I wolfed all the food down before I remembered.

The old lava lamp threw me off though... it sits idle and dull among the beautiful jade and copper statues... why?

I was in the mood to go out for lunch to grab some ramen and I’ve heard a lot about this place. The ramen did not disappoint and I enjoyed the spice level in the fire ramen. I would recommend highly the fire ramen if you enjoy Spicy food that still is packed with flavour. Service was great and the food came quickly. Definitely will be coming back for another visit.

Kyu has been a staple in Asian food for a while in Winnipeg and I love this place for its consistency. We shared some Karaage to start and it really made the taste buds water. We followed that up with Spicy Miso Ramen, Kyu Fire Ramen and Mango Chicken (not in photo). The ramen had plenty of delicious noodles and if you’re a fiend for heat, get the Kyu Fire! Spicy and delicious. The Mango chicken had a refreshing mango sauce that makes you feel like you always have room for more. Overall, the portions and taste were well worth the money. Very “bang for you buck” in my opinion. Service was friendly and fast, space is fair but can get a little full at time. The area surrounding the resto can be a bit “sketchy” at times so come during the day or a Wednesday for their wing night. Otherwise enjoy their food through your favourite food apps. Come here for great value and great food!

Update from 2 star to 5 star: Less than 1 year later. Finally got to try dining in with some friends. Very good. Just copy and paste gushing from previous 5 star reviews lol 😆. Ordered and tried the following: Takoyaki (Classic!); Corn (so good!); Fried Tofu (So soft and flavourful sauce); Spicy Peanut Chicken Noodles (Mouthwatering, a bit on the sweet spicy, than hot spicy); Mango Chicken Wings (the sauce was super good). My friends ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, Mango Chicken Rice..?, and they all said it was good!

Le Burger Week. Busy times means some unexpected traffic, maybe, for Kyu Bistro. I'm fine with lining up, but as a restaurant, know your limits and capacity. Over 15 people stood lined up in front of the door for over 30 minutes, and were turned away because they ran out. They should have known at a certain point. We were lucky enough to pre-order, while we were in line, just in case. There is a difference in quality of dining in and taking out, and that is where I deduct most points. There should not be such a distinct difference in quality of service, just because we decided not to sit; we pay the same amount for the burger and yet get less than people eating in. I kept on thinking that "Wow, the photo for burger week looks awesome! First time coming here, looking forward to it, but remember that the promo photos are always outstanding, be prepared for a not so big one" But I didn't realize it was so unreal. Not even close, even putting sliced cheese would warrant more flavour and colour than the minimal amount of cheese ramen I had, which was the main point of the burger, that's the hook! Besides the hanging chopsticks, which is apparently doable for dine in, it was the copious amounts of cheese ramen that I was looking forward to. Really disappointed for the first experience with them, and I've been looking forward for so long.

Burger description:
Besides the disapponting lack of cheese ramen, the patty was juicy and great, but was not a fan of the pork belly, maybe the strong fatty flavour could have been complemented by the spicy cheese ramen (it was spicy level 1 on scale of 10), as I experienced for the minimal amount of ramen I had, which I finished in one bite with the pork belly to taste. I really dig the sauce that was on my fries though, and the fries were still crispy after 10 minutes of being in the box, so props!

The two stars will be for the experience I had with the overall burger, and the three stars deducted, was for the lack of quality and quantity of the cheese ramen (main point of the awesomeness of the burger) with the two burgers we got, and the service where they turned away people who waited so long just because they didn't have enough--at some point, the people there knew when they were going to run out; and the service happening behind the counter, there was a server rude to the person at the cash register, and I get that it's busy, but hopefully not to paying, and possibly tipping customers, though hard to say.

Hopefully I will be able to change the review once I come back and this time for dine in, just in case, because take out is not the way to go right now. I really want the 5 star review experience that others have had! I do love this style of cuisine! Try again!

Amazing, cozy, tastey, and fulfilling. Easily some of the BEST ramen in the city, each bowl with it's own pallet of taste, could not recommend it enough! I have never been more satisfied with a meal in my time being here in Winnipeg. I come from many cities. Vancouver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco and this bowl of ramen is up there with the greats!
