You can learn the very basics about the Cold War. The museum is telling a very one-sided story, though. At times, one cannot help and feel that this museum is solely designed with proaganda purposes in mind, with a perspective from the 1950s : How can one talk about the Cold War with no mention of the Vietnam War or the US-led military interventions in Latin America? Why do the designers call the American invasion of Afghanistan as a military "intervention" when they do not hesitate to call the Soviet invasion of Czechslovakia as an invasion? There are many examples like this one. Worth a visit but with a critical eye.

** You need to pay five euros to enter the museum.

Affordable entering fee. Plenty of history to watch and listen to. Reserve about 1 hour to see/listen to everything.
Only bad part was that, when we went, there were many kids inside, running around and making noise…

A great interactive exhibition of the cold war era with lots of film footages pretty close to Checkpoint Charlie. The younh lady at the counter speaks well English and is really kind and helpful.

Really interesting and provided a wealth of information about the wall, checkpoint, Cold War and it’s ultimate fall. The outer wall contains all the history and can follow it around the outside and into the middle where a section of the wall still exists. The black box in the middle cost €5 to enter, we didn’t go in as friends were waiting for us, but this seemed reasonable for the knowledge provided here. There was also a little shop to get a drink or snack.

Interesting museum right next to the iconic checkpoint Charlie. The museum tells the visitors about many different aspects of the cold war. Would definitely recommend visiting.
