The Abbot

The Abbot has a great staff who engages with their community on a weekly basis with fun events and giveaways! The floor plans are nice and the maintenance team responds fast!

Community areas are very clean for a college apt. Great location and a social atmosphere. The hot tub is a nice perk, I wish it could be open through the winter.

Don't sign a lease with this place! Horrible management and deplorable handling of security deposits! After reading the 1 star reviews about charges for damage and not getting security deposits back, we made sure to take pictures of everything upon moving out. The apartment was spotless and there was no damage anywhere in the apartment when we moved our son out. The Abbot waited until the new tenants moved in and then informed he and his roommate that they would not be getting their deposit back. Both he and his roommate called Alesha, the manager, numerous times to discuss this, but couldn't get through, and were not called back. When they finally did, they asked for pictures and justification for the damages. The Abbot said they will send them, and have not. I highly doubt they have anything to send us. It has been nothing but a run around and a scam. Read the 1 star reviews, and you will see the same story by all. I seriously question the 5 star reviews, their legitimacy, and who wrote them.

I would highly recommend that you look elsewhere in East Lansing if you do not want to deal with disgusting move in conditions and no chance of receiving your Security Deposit back. Moved in August 2022 (2 females) and the apartment was in extremely dirty condition. When moving out in August 2023, we spent time patching/sanding the slightest nail holes and were charged $1,400 in damages - Ridiculous. Also, the cable never worked in the Apartment with their TV and had to by a Firestick for the TV to work - multiple attempts to have the Maintenance correct. Bad Deal

This will be my second year living at The Abbot. I can't tell anyone enough how much I've enjoyed living here. The location, amenities, staff, and convenience of having a fully furnished apartment is simply unbeatable and I wouldn't want to live any where else as a student. I always feel safe as we have a night time security guard and two consecutive outside doors that are locked 24/7. The views of campus and East Lansing from the units are beautiful and never get old. I highly recommend living at The Abbot if you want to have a central location across from the MSU campus!

I love living here, clean apartments and very spacious. They provide the best amenities and furniture in the apartment complex. I love the staff and they are always so helpful to all the residents. I also love the maintenance as they are so fast with their work and they do the best job. The mail room is always so organized and the lobby is always clean and they decorate it. They always have fun events for their residents and create a fun environment to live in for their residents. The location of this complex is perfect as it is an easy walk to restaurants, classes and so many other places. I love the rooftop with study rooms, games, a workout room and more. This is really the perfect place to live and I couldn't imagine not living here! If there's one place to live on campus its the Abbot!

I love living at the Abbot!! Not only is it the most ideal location.. but the people and staff are what make it awesome! They do so many fun themed nights to connect and meet with people here! The view on the roof is insane and the workout facility is really convenient and new! I love using the study rooms as well!
