We only have time to try the breakfast. Sadly the food was very ordinary and boring given the price tag (A$280 for 2).

Service was excellent, ambience was nice too.

The main room was closed for renovations, so we were only able to sit in the second room, which was a little disappointing too.

Beautiful location with pastries from Cedric grolet. Brunch was 120 euros if I remember correctly, book ahead of time. The building itself and service is 5/5. Food was good but since it’s traditional french- nothing that surprises you. That being said it’s definitely a full meal with lots of options. Desserts by Cedric were the highlight for me. They gave us so many and most of us took the desserts home as you simply can’t finish them all :) great spot for a special occasion

A special place to celebrate special occasion! We loved every bit of it, right from the Dom Pérignon to the strawberry tart. A truly premium and unforgettable experience!

over-all the restaurant had a beautiful interior. The croissants were much smaller than we expected. The coat check was appreciated given we wore several layers for the cold weather, the waiters were stiff and not very friendly (not sure if this is part of their training or not).

We had 2 continental breakfasts, Avocado toast, and an Eggs Benedict. for the amount of food i was a disappointed. again it is a great place to take photos. For what they charge you, you would expect AMAZING but definitely did not live up to that. it was a good experience to eat there once but I have had better croissants at other restaurants.

There were 3 Instagram girls in the restaurant literally changing clothes just to take photos with their croissants. don’t be deceived by all the hype.

Would we go there again for breakfast ? I asked my wife and she NO but it was a beautiful place to take photos.

My husband and I had dinner at Le Meurice last night. Unfortunately I’m in the food-aversion stage of my pregnancy & could only stomach a few bites of dinner. My review is strictly for ambiance & service. Dinner was around 2 hours long with several staff offering top notch service. Each dish was thoroughly explained & the staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The hotel itself is stunning with another restaurant inside and a beautiful bar area. The meal included caviar, elderflower palate cleanser, several appetizers, a sorbet + desert outside of the main entrees. Beautiful presentation & vibe.

#88 in my Michelin Stars Challenge in Paris to try them all under 365 days.

Big suit to fill. As usual, I’ll just focus on what’s interesting, and as it’s a two stars, on what is extraordinary.
Well, here what’s extraordinary is the challenge. The challenge is that you have the first Parisian palace, and its iconic dining room. How can you compete with that? As a chef, how can your cuisine find its room in such a luxurious place, with all the distractions ? And it gets more challenging… because the design of the room has been elegantly enhanced by arguably the most successful and famous French designer.

Could it be even more challenging? Yes, because before you, as a chef, you had Alleno and now Ducasse is looking over your shoulder… It’s a very big suit to fill. How do you fill it? You live up to the place but you stay elegant and refined.
Living up to the place? The place is sumptuous. Well, you fill it, like you fill a theater with a show. Smoking dishes are passing by, chariots are being wheeled… a ballet is filling the space.

But it would be easy to overuse the “bourgeois “ theme from the end of 19th that could inspire the beauty of the room. So the chef knows when to stay elegant and smart. The cuisine is fresh, refined, balanced and a dash intellectual. The desserts are keeping up with the level, some could say pushing it up, but I feel that Amaury’s work would be understated if i was saying so. Especially once you think of the Herculean task he had to face.

A very well deserved 2 stars. A top tiers one.
