Hakka 77

Last minute cravings made me find this awesome restaurant. Hands down the best Hakka food I’ve had in a very long time. Ironically this was my first visit, but I predict many more to come.

Ordered lunch special and got extremely sick next day. The food smelled like oil, chicken was slimy, and no crunch at all, rather it was really soggy. They put a lot of corn starch and thats all I tasted. Never again.

You'd think this restaurant is still living in the covid years, even in 2024! This is a takeout only spot that offer dark lighting, stacks of tables and chairs and unpleasant waiting area. Lines of chairs block access from exterior to the plaza interior and there's worn out plexiglass at the counter. For a quick takeout, its pay what you get. Lunch will run you $11.29 after taxes with cash or debit, and it's filling and satisfying. Portions are as expected, and food wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing. The General Tso Chicken wasn't really crispy, nor soggy, and the spring roll is the same as frozen and reheated ones. An alright stop just for a quick lunch.

Great place for lunch take out If you work in the Richmond Hill, Hwy 7/Leslie area. their Hakka dishes have always been great, and within budget (around $12 for their lunch specials), my go-to is the Chili Chicken with fried rice and gravy. The soup as a side is highly recommended. It's either a hot and sour soup or an egg drop soup, both go well as a side with any of their lunch specials. Not available to dine in, but a great take out spot nonetheless.

Visited here on recommendation of a neighbour. Ordered Bombay fish and Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice. Total was $26.35. Portions were good size, flavours were good but a bit oily, price is reasonable. All in all a good experience. Vivian the order taker was polite and professional, knew alot of customers by name. That says alot about quality of an establishment. Will definately return

Manchurian chicken and Chili chicken.
We didn’t like the taste of the soup side, but the kids liked the vegetable spring rolls side. All in all the food was good and ready for pickup in 10mins.
It is so sad that they are understaffed so they do not offer a dine in.
Hopefully soon we try the noodles!

I have ordered veg Manchuria, Schezwan fried rice, vegetarian fried rice, and noodles. I liked schezwan fried rice and noodles but I didn't like Manchurian. Manchurian balls are sticky when i tried to eat. Food prices are reasonable but some items tasted bad. I threw it. Other than that service is good. May be they are old.
