Review is for their new location at Leslie and highway 7. Great parking lot, busy as per usual but service has gotten so much worse. I’m used to Chinese restaurants, but at least they’re efficient.
It took 45 minutes from ordering to getting our food during lunch. Usually at their old place it’s a lot quicker, however they clearly cannot keep up with their customers with the much bigger space. They cannot manage their business effectively. The food is good - but it’s the same as Lobster Port No 1, so you can just go to their old location with the new restaurant.
They also did not clear plates of lobster shell after ordering a 10 lb lobster from them. And they had the nerve to charge 12%.

Really an amazing and unforgettable experience for me, treated by my beloved daughter to eat seafoods here in Toronto. Last 2 years, I’ve been to many Chinese large bouquet halls but Jumbo Lobster here is the best for the stunning decorated stylish hall with all the big lobster and crab aquariums displayed on one side of the whole wall and other side displayed all kinds of liquor in the bottle. Price fairly reasonable, service is fantastic….like servicing in fine dinning. Staff bought out a live big lobster and crab, showing us exactly what we were about to enjoy later was super excited. Beside they also offered us to take as many photos as we like. All the foods we had on that day are not bad. HK cuisine a bit mild for some dishes but superior quality. I will never forget their famous signature, Fried Lobster Tower pairing with crispy fries and its what famous of? Definitely, will back again for special occasion.
Was recommended by a friend so took the family to try it. Service was weird, reason I said that most of them are nice and but few of them was not as nice. Also they don’t take any kind of credit cards, but some of menu price is pricey but they expect you carry cash like that. Seafood is great. Lobster, crabs are tasty. But the veggie we got and also the fried rice is awful. Not sure how, but just bad. Overall definitely still worth it if you are here for the seafood.

If you like sea food, lobster and crabs, this is the must go place in Toronto! This signature dish— lobster tower is the best and every dishes is delicious. They all very well cooked. If you come from US, you will notice that the price is great with current exchange rate.
Friends visiting from Australia and thought I would take them out to the famous lobster dinner at the newly opened Jumbo Lobsters on Leslie St, Richmond Hill. What an embarrassment!
We arrived at 5:30pm and ordered the set menu like everyone else and it contains a 6 lb of lobsters, a 8 lb king crabs and 5 other dishes. 6 lb became 6.85 lb and the 8 lb became 8.5 lb, which was expected. The surprises was all the other dishes came first including the fried rice, veggie and steamed fish and the two main seafood came last. We were seated on a table which obviously was way too small for this set menu for the 7 of us. Some dishes had to be transferred to smaller plates which greatly degraded the presentation and hence enjoyment.
Through-out the next 1.5 hours, no one was there to change plates, refill tea pots and hot water, no plastic gloves until we asked, no toothpicks and no serviette, just a deck of cheap tissues papers.
Services were rushed as each seating is limited to 2 hours. After we finished, dessert was served and it was put on top of all the uncollected dishes still on the table.
Sharp at 2 hours, some young busboy came to our table and told us loudly and forcefully we must now leave as new customers were waiting for our table 😡
Set dinner was $699 on the menu, we ended up paying $939 which included all the extra pounds of seafood, taxes and 12% automatic tips.
Never would I go there again. With that kind of money I expected service and a no rush dinner. The place was loud and we had to raise our voices to carry out a normal conversation. This is definitely a tourist trap and the restaurant only care about rushing us through. You have been warned !

This is their new location. We were there as a party of four. The service was great. I guess above average for a Chinese restaurant. Food was really good. The beef was yummy and the lobster was amazing. But you need to pay for the tea. Very big location with a lot of seats. Lighting and restaurants set up is beautiful as well. Because it's a new restaurant the seating is great as well. Our bill came to about $180. So reasonable price for what we got
Enjoyed the food but not the atmosphere. A very crowded place. Customers and waitstaff need to squeeze through tiny space between tables, running the risk of taking dishes from the table with them. Good for small family dinning out. Would not recommend for large family gatherings.
Haven’t been back to Golden Court Dim Sum in a while, as I’ve been going to Yu Seafood but I was pleasantly surprised at their quality. Their quality was on par with Yu Seafood’s Dim Sum and on the positive end was that our group didn’t have to wait for a long queue. I would definitely come back and recommend to everyone!
Last minute cravings made me find this awesome restaurant. Hands down the best Hakka food I’ve had in a very long time. Ironically this was my first visit, but I predict many more to come.
Ordered lunch special and got extremely sick next day. The food smelled like oil, chicken was slimy, and no crunch at all, rather it was really soggy. They put a lot of corn starch and thats all I tasted. Never again.

The manager and workers are friendly and super efficient, we learned the hard way to make a reservation at the popular Chinese spots since we showed up at 6:30pm on a TUESDAY(!) without one and the place was packed! You'd think this restaurant is still living in the covid years, even in 2024! This is a takeout only spot that offer dark lighting, stacks of tables and chairs and unpleasant waiting area. Lines of chairs block access from exterior to the plaza interior and there's worn out plexiglass at the counter. For a quick takeout, its pay what you get. Lunch will run you $11.29 after taxes with cash or debit, and it's filling and satisfying. Portions are as expected, and food wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing. The General Tso Chicken wasn't really crispy, nor soggy, and the spring roll is the same as frozen and reheated ones. An alright stop just for a quick lunch.
A traditional Cantonese restaurant, good quality Dim-Sum at very reasonable prices, Dim-Sum menu is a bit less extensive compared to most places, busy place at meal times, featuring all the typical Cantonese favourites, efficient service.
Dim sum was not as good as in 2023 when I went. The BBQ pork was just ok with brocoli being served cold from the fridge, har kau and siu mine were not upto standard, chicken feet was not good in taste nor presentation. I would not recommend it this time
The eel claypot rice was cooked perfectly, it was flavorful, the crust bits at the bottom was tasty. The signature duck was fruity and flavorful. The greens were garlicky and full of flavors. The pork stomach and chicken soup was a little too peppery to my liking. The service was attentive and efficient. The vibes were more like some place in Hongkong.
You can easily tell that this place has been around for quite some time. While the inside is relatively spacious, it seems a bit cramped considering its popularity. Despite numerous tables in the dining hall, navigating through the crowd can be challenging. It would be great if they rearranged the seating.

The Winter Melon Casserole was fantastic. They used winter melon as a soup container with chicken and shrimp in it. The winter melon was slow-cooked and tasted like puree, and the soup was umami. I heard this dish is so popular that you have to pre-order it.
The Pumpkin and Tiger Shrimp Salted Egg Yolk Tempura - Loved it. The shrimp were fresh, and the pumpkin cuts were soft, covered by the thick egg yolk sauce. That's a taste of happiness.
The Steamed Jumbo Scallops were highly recommended. The scallops were indeed 'jumbo', so fresh and they literally melted in my mouth.
The Deep Fried Milk was yummy too. It was perfectly sweet and not overly creamy. Although I haven't tried many deep-fried milk dishes, this was the best one I've ever had thus far.
Their Roasted Chicken and Duck were very well cooked and seasoned.
All their dishes were amazing. I highly recommend this place if you fancy authentic Cantonese food, especially given their good service.

This is the traditional hongkong style cuisine. We came in Thursday night before 5, got seated immediately . Service is fast, with a busy and noisy setting. Tables are so closed to each other, even my 9 year old boy needs to squeeze in.
We ordered a lobster combo (3lbs) +beef cubes, all I can say the quality is above average around 4 out of 5, however the portions are small. Especially Fried Beef cubes with sweet peppers , beef cubes are less than 10, most onions.
In addition, they charged 12%service fee as a mandatory tip, which is on top of the bill +tax, I am not a big fan for that. Overall, 1adult, 2 seniors and two kids, $200 +, for environment and foods like this, don’t think we’ll be back again

Simplicity at its finest! We have been aware of this wonton noodle house for the past decade and it took us nine years to come in and boy do we regret waiting. Anytime we had passed by in the plaza, there would always be lineups to get in and be seated. Luckily for us this was not the situation on Tues. Feb 6th 2024.

Can’t get better value than these noodles and they’re quite delicious. I usually get the noodle soup with shrimp wonton but you should ask to add veggies if you want gailan (I forgot this time).

Went around noon on a Sat and place was busy but didn't need to wait. Overall service was a bit slow eventhough the waitress who served us was helpful. Ordered around 7 dimsums and were only served our first item 15 mins later. Subsequent dimsum came soon after. Our last dimsum which was the chicken feet came more than 45 mins after we placed our order and by then we had already finished the rest of the food. And when it was time to pay, we were handed the device and was told "visa only, no debit"?! There's nowhere in the restaurant that says payment by Visa only! What if we do not have any credit card?! Overall food was ok nothing to shout about, a bit bland to our taste.

Really casual no frills wonton noodle shop. It's set up for takeout, but there are seatings for dine in. Water and condiments are self served. The food wasn't bad. The wontons are jumbo sized. Their C1 option was generous. Came out to be $12 per person. Perfect for quick cheap bites in this winter weather.
Great place for lunch take out If you work in the Richmond Hill, Hwy 7/Leslie area. their Hakka dishes have always been great, and within budget (around $12 for their lunch specials), my go-to is the Chili Chicken with fried rice and gravy. The soup as a side is highly recommended. It's either a hot and sour soup or an egg drop soup, both go well as a side with any of their lunch specials. Not available to dine in, but a great take out spot nonetheless.
First time back after at least a decade maybe even two. I went fairly early on a weeknight and the place was not nearly as vibrant as I recall. There were a couple of tables of mahjong in a room off to the side and only one other table there for dinner. The service was excellent. The lady server was very friendly and helped with upsizing dishes for our group. There is a reason why this restaurant has been around for so long. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. The absolute standout dish was the chicken, 江南百花雞, deboned with a layer of shrimp paste added. The skin was super crispy, the chicken was juicy and the whole combination was well-seasoned and tasted great on its own. The accompanying sauce brought it to another level. I highly recommend this dish and it needs to be preordered.
We haven't visit this place for a while. The manager introduced us the new dish - Silver Needle Noodles. We were very excited as not many restaurants offering this dish nowadays. The noodles was Al Dente; it brought back out childhood memories.
The manager also recommended the Beef Briskets with Rice Roll Up Pot - the rice roll up absorbed the sauce of the beef briskets, added extra layer of flavor for the plain rice roll, excellent dish.
The Soup Dumplings was big and with lots of shrimps; however, if you are not a fan of cilantro, you may find the cilantro is overwhelming, but since I love cilantro so I enjoyed this very much.
Other dim sum dishes were good too but these 3 were special.

Came to Chi Star for a friend’s birthday, we booked early because we had 16 people and they gave us a semi-private room, separate from other 2 small table with a curtain. Table was big enough but we sat cramped, wish they had a bigger table or give us the whole space. Food was awesome though, we opted for a king crab combo and added a lobster combo plus a couple of additional dishes, all were delicious. The only point deducted was the space and seating, which was way too cramped. The restaurant is super busy so make sure to call and make reservation, and some food will need to be preordered, check their menu. We brought our own wine and sake, their corking fee is $20 unlimited bottles, which is reasonable.
You will love this restaurant. You definitely need make a reservation before you go, otherwise you’ll wait quite long time.

Was severely disappointed today at the Golden Court restaurant on Highway 7. OK the atmosphere is great, but things stop there. First it is a restaurant which caters only to the Chinese. Non Chinese dont feel welcome here. The menus are all in Chinese with tiny english translations. The staff do not speak Chinese. (I always wonder why migrants to Canada refuse to learn one of the two official languages here and if they do not want to do this, why they do not return to the countries they came from? ) Getting a staff member who speaks Chinese was difficult. However the same staff member was very adept at English when it came to leaving a tip. He very rudely insisted that on a split bill, both customers leave a tip even though I had already included it in my portion of the bill. Another thing. Getting the sauces/dips to go with the food took all our energy. We had literally to beg for them. The dimsuns are good. The aubergines were particularly tasty. But this is a Dimsun restaurant and we made the fatal mistake of ordering from their all carte menu - stir fried noodles with beef tenderloin. Very very bad. Had to hunt for the beef. Thankfully I never have to return to this particular Chinese Restaurant.
A good place for dim sum!! I always come here with my family to have lunch on long weekends. You don't have to wait that long if you get there around noon -1pm. Good quality dim sum, love all the dumplings, fried tentacles, and fried softshell crab. It's one of the better dim sum places around.
We enjoyed the wontons because they were huge and yummy. The service could have been better—the staff could definitely have been friendlier to us! Booooo to the man’s negative mood! It’s a self-serve eatery which gives off the vibe of a fast-food place. Ughhh.
Love the noodles. Egg noodles was cooked just right, none of that starchiness. their wontons are huge. I ordered their beef soup noodles, just perfect pair with red vinegar and their homemade chilli sauce. I rarely go to markham but when I do I try to stop by for a hot bowl of noodles. I'm giving 2 stars for service and atmosphere not because it's bad, but this is a noodle joint that's not about service (it's pretty much self serve) or atmosphere.

Visited here on recommendation of a neighbour. Ordered Bombay fish and Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice. Total was $26.35. Portions were good size, flavours were good but a bit oily, price is reasonable. All in all a good experience. Vivian the order taker was polite and professional, knew alot of customers by name. That says alot about quality of an establishment. Will definately return
Every time we come to Canada, we have to stop by Jim Chai Kee for their won ton and fish noodles. Menu is relatively small but that's the beauty of this place. This is all you get but what you get are all fantastic!

Hubby ordered their specialty thick rice noodles with beef, shrimp won ton and fish balls. My oldest ordered their beef with fish ball lo mein with oyster sauce and my youngest got the beef thick rice noodles. Everyone finished everything!
It is self serve so you don't have to tip and they provide hot water for you. But if you want an extra container, it is 0.50 cent each.
The best part is their chili oil. You MUST try their chili oil. I like to pour a little bit into the noodle soup. Remember a little goes a long way! It's pretty spicy and I can handle spice. We will continue to come back whenever we're in Canada!

Noodles. It’s all about noodles. My personal favs are the chewy skinny soup noodles that hold up brilliantly in the hot rich soup broth. Even the last noodle is never over cooked. Their broth is so good and their homemade chili crisp makes the broth perfect. Wontons. Also bliss in a good bowl of soup and really filling. Surf and turf comes from beef wontons and fish balls! Every bowl needs to come with greens and oyster sauce on the side. It’s just a simple place that has really friendly service by someone’s mom!
I have ordered veg Manchuria, Schezwan fried rice, vegetarian fried rice, and noodles. I liked schezwan fried rice and noodles but I didn't like Manchurian. Manchurian balls are sticky when i tried to eat. Food prices are reasonable but some items tasted bad. I threw it. Other than that service is good. May be they are old.
$7.45 for lunch, Monday to Friday. Food quantity was generous. Steamed rice with a choice of gravy and soup/pop/spring roll. Food taste good. Place was clean. Service was fast. No credit card for below $10 orders.
