I was looking for a Japanese restaurant owned by a Japanese proprietor in LA. I arrived late, around 7:40 PM, and found only one table occupied. I hesitated to enter at first. However, right by the entrance, I saw numerous pictures of Olympian figure skater Mirai Nagasu on the wall, which reassured me. I ended up having $100 worth of sushi. Honestly, I have no idea how I'm going to sleep tonight with such a full stomach! While researching Japanese restaurants, I found that most cost over $100. It's quite a large amount of money. Ultimately, I spent the same, but you can adjust according to your budget. I recommend this restaurant.

Ordered the Rainbow Roll, Ringo Roll, 2 pieces of Sweet Shrimp, and a Yellow Tail Roll. The Rainbow roll has a beautiful assortment of seafood from tuna, salmon, yellowtail, halibut and shrimp. Each piece had good texture, and was well portioned. The Ringo Roll salmon was very good and interesting using dried apple to add sweetness to the fish. The sweet shrimp was soft and beautifully presented with the shrimp heads being fried separately as the other half of the dish; alternatively the shrimp heads could be offered as part of a soup. The Yellow Tail Roll was also a good pick that was very smooth. The atmosphere is very relaxed and peaceful here with a gradual pace of traffic coming through here. There is a shared parking in the rear of the building that is ample enough.

I gave this place five stars because the food (which was quite good) was also a truly outstanding value for the price. My sushi mix plate had about 10 pieces of delicious, really good quality sushi for only about $15. My brother got a combo beef/tempura/sashimi platter for about $18 which was ENORMOUS and also quite good. Menu had lots of other authentic dishes (like chirashi sushi) which you don't often see at more touristy places. Overall a really enjoyable experience.

Very authentic Japanese sushi! The quality is so nice and the price is very reasonable. My personal favorite is their Unagi, squid, and yellowtail. All the fish are super fresh, they are selected by the owner every morning from the fish market.

How could I say I love the restaurant here. Just after shopping at the shops at Santa Anita and searching for the restaurant nearby, it's the first and closest choice. The store is small and might be somewhat old-fashioned, but you could feel the warmth. The decorations are specially designed while the staff are welcoming. The chef responsible for the sushi bar could always talk with the customers sitting at the bar. We ordered the recommended Salmon sashimi, it's fresh enough. The seafood Hotpot is rich in taste and the fish inside might be cod of great taste. It's also a special hand roll of scallops topped with grilled cheese. That's great and might be with the locals' taste.

Kiyosuzu is the opposite of all you can eat sushi (AYCE) restaurants. AYCE sushi restaurants to me generally represent lower quality food made by people who are not passionate about their craft. The owner operators of Kiyosuzu have been an Arcadia classic for years for their great service and quality sushi--their passion shows. For slightly above what one might typically pay at a typical AYCE, I left satisfied in terms of the aesthetics of the food, the quantity, and the quality. This is a must visit restaurant in Arcadia and it might be my personal favorite.

Wonderful popular authentic Japanese restaurant. Crowded during busy hours, reserve table if you can although not taken during peak holiday hours. Many fresh /seasonal items to choose from - usually posted on the walls, such as various grilled fish collars (kama), jelly fish, etc. Premium price for these as well as sashimi grade tuna toro, fresh shrimp, halibut, etc. Can also dine on a budget with popular sushi rolls, tempura. Some Japanese sake collection. Sushi rice balls are much larger than the traditional size but fish cuts are very generous. Brisk service. Shared parking in the back lot with other restaurants. Closed Monday. Open for lunch as well. Major credit cards.
