Omg! Huge place!
We are visiting from Cali. We went to check it out. There's an area on section 3 that you can get in the water & jump off rocks. Has a cute small cave. You can walk on the rocks where there's not much shade or You can walk to the other side where there's shade.
We also walked in that trail to the right of the building there to see Old Baldy. Nice walk thru the woods. You can't feel the heat in there.

McKinney Falls State Park is known for its nice biking and walking trails. The park features both the Upper and Lower Falls, which offer scenic views. The Lower Falls is particularly popular because it provides easy access to the water, making it a great spot for wading. This is easily one of the most beautiful places I've hiked at. If you visit, come prepared to spend a couple of hours just walking around enjoying your hike. Trails can be confusing to follow, as they are multiple ways to get to places, and they all intersects with each other, but don't worry, as it is very easy to feel safe. Trails are not long and there is always people around. Also, there are playgrounds, bbq areas, and restrooms available, and accesible. Plenty of parking too, in many areas. We drove from Houston to visit this park, and will be returning. It is very well worth the drive, specially if you get there before 10AM.
This is a fabulous State Park. It has 2 sets of waterfalls and a nice rock ledge/overhang. There are also great rock formations and very walkable trails. We saw lots of wildflowers too. There is a nice visitor center. We spent about 2 hours walking around there and we are very glad we visited.
It was a great place to take a breather. Taking a hike around while seeing the water, wild flowers and the critters of the place were
awesome! Highly recommend having a reservation, but its not necessary. We went there around 11:00 and there were still places to park. You can swim in some parts of the water but if you hiked down the Lower Falls, there’s some trash on the river and the staff are being great at cleaning it up. So, pack your trash and leave with it until you see a proper trash can please. Thank you.

The park too awesome!! Great for beginners who would like to enjoy a nice sight see and easy trails to follow.
They have waterfalls, camping grounds, playgrounds and also good amount of parking.
My family and I came here for mother's day and it was a great idea. We had a blast walking around, taking pics and having a picnic as well.
