I used to love going to Sparky with my daughter and looking at all the hidden objects (and sometimes leaving treasures of our own) and heartfelt notes too and from strangers but the last couple years just about every time we go the whole place is completely empty of treasures. It’s such a drastic contrast to how it used to be that it can only be the result of deliberate action. I doubt city Parks & Rec would be doing it and I just don’t know what would motivate someone to do this but I wish they would stop. This was a fun communal interaction.

It is a small, quiet park. A sculpture made of shells is impressive.

This is a really cool place! Glad I had the opportunity to experience this park with my family.

I would say this is more of a roadside attraction than a park. All there is to do is this wall. It sits in a residential neighborhood and parking was easy to find. Cool to visit once just to see it.

What a FUN public park. The park itself is smaller than most, but what's within is fascinating. Built around a 1930 electrical substation is a 2008 grotto wall by local artist Berthold Haas (with help from the community) filled with treasures. It made for a fun stop on my morning run while staying in an Airbnb at nearby Hyde Park.

Beautiful pocket park with art installation (grotto wall), north austin substation that looks like it is used as an event space, and a mix of young and old oaks. Great place to stop on my bike ride.
