First time working with studio lights, not just as a bystander. Tbh, I was a little nervous at the beginning , and by the end I wanted more time to shoot lol. Neriah was so great at breaking down the basics and making sure we left with information to reference back on our own. Good people, good vibes. 10/10 🙌🏽

Neriah was a pleasure to work with during my shoot in the CoLab Studio. He and his other talented artists of the class were inviting and enlivening to be around. I highly recommend booking out his studio for a shoot or work with Neriah himself and his plethora of talented artists, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for having me for the Lighting Social Vol. 21, I can’t wait for another one!

Such an awesome studio that makes learning accessible for the community. Not only did I walk away with a wealth of knowledge, I also made priceless connections to other photographers. Follow them on insta and make sure you sign up for their Lighting Social mailing list!!

Wow! I learned so much from Neriah. He dropped so many gems for us. What a kind, patient teacher. I truly felt like I was in community and the vibes were all around great for learning. Thank you for creating this amazing space for accessible and high quality learning!

I’ve attended two lighting socials at the CoLab Studios and they’ve been extremely helpful and welcoming. Any question I have I am free to ask with no judgment. The social allows for hands on practice that you would not have the opportunity for through an online course. You have access to build a community of people at all levels of experience and can pick up small helpful tips outside of the lighting conversation to help improve your photography skills. I plan to attend as many of these socials as my schedule will permit.

The CoLab Studios has an amazing atmosphere for any session. I visited the studio for “The Lighting Social” an event that builds the community of photographers while exploring various lighting techniques. I came to gain a greater understanding of lighting but left with additional nuggets of wisdom I wasn’t expecting- including the “psychology of portraiture.” Before the session started Neriah (host) had the model begin with breathing and stretching exercises to make them more comfortable. This was a practice I haven’t used before but I now include it with every session.l and my clients are greatly appreciative of it.

Im from Philly and travel up for the Lighting Social events because of the knowledge provided here. I also know that when I have NY clients CoLab studios is where I’m shooting 📸

I've had the opportunity to work out of CoLab Studios as both a model and photographer; what a lovely experience! The space has everything you need from backdrops and props and awesome natural light, in addition to a makeup station and kitchen area for refreshments. I feel really comfortable shooting here. Quite easy to get to off the L train.
