This was my favourite part of Adelaide ! So much history and everything was so informative ! Even though I'm not a kid, the kids activity for finding ingredients in the pots and making the recipe was fun 😂. The staff were so friendly.. even though one of them did jumpscare my mum and I but it was funny haha ! Such a cheap activity and so worth it !

My daughter did the Detective challenge and had the best fun. The staff and Laurie were fantastic and couldn’t have been anymore friendly. Really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend.

A really interesting place to visit! We came at 10am right when it opened on a Saturday, which was great because we were pretty much able to explore the gaol with no visitors around for about an hour. We liked that it was a self-guided tour, so we could really take our time to look around. Staff were really friendly and took the time to give us a brief overview of the gaol, including providing us a detailed map and explaining how it worked. I would recommend anyone visiting Adelaide to pay a visit to Adelaide Gaol :-)

It was very interesting. We did a self guided tour as it was on a weekend during the day. Easy enough to make your way around. There are paper maps to take and information plaques everywhere. You can take as little or as long as you want. Lots of information. You could definitely get a feel for how it was.
We were there for 2 hr's as closing time was 4pm. But we could have spent another hour or so very easily. Watch out for the mannequins.
The guided tours are mainly for schools, etc. But the Twilight tour and Ghost tours are other options as well.
Had a good experience. Staff were nice. Free parking available. Good souvenir shop there too.

Really good. Much to see including gallows, cells and much as it was left in 1988 when it closed. Can be busy in school hols.
Note: If you are using tram or bus there is a walk of around 10 minutes. Not very well signed from the bus/tram stops. You have to cross a busy dual carriageway, but there is a light controlled crossing.
