Flask never fails. Many new DJs have been coming through and seem to be building the resident base with a mix of all kinds of house, techno, D&B and more. Some of the DJs are those that killed nights at Brian Beru and hosted Thompson Pointe warehouse parties, Casco Bay and Naples booze cruises etc. Since the world started getting back to normal I keep finding myself starting the night in the old port and winding up here to dance my heart out till closing. The music and vibe will keep you going all night

Flask is my favorite place in Portland. There is such a wide variety of things going on here — music of all different genres, karaoke, drag shows, comedy nights — with all sorts of different people. The social environment is ever-changing but always has the feeling of hanging out at a friend’s house. Also there’s an interesting take-it-or-leave-it box in the back bathroom where people leave notes and little trinkets.

Although karaoke here can be a good uplifting time, the security here is not doing their job.

A previous comment from the owner states that the $5 cover charge is used in many ways, one of them being “Safety First: The remaining 25% of the cover contributes to our door security, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Admittedly, this often only covers part of the cost.”

There was a person that was grabbing onto me in an inappropriate manner, as well as grabbing a hold of my friends jaw, as he was singing, as well as jumping the floor and just all around making this place very uncomfortable. These actions happened in front of DJ Cooper, the bartender, as well as door “security” and nothing was done to stop this person from ordering drinks or being kicked out.

Very disturbing, will not be returning.

It was an interesting time... I bet they have more to offer than what I experienced.
...I liked most of the place; the weird floor plan, the random trip hazard step in the center of the bar, DJ Cougar was there (legenday, btw), and the bartender seemed to know what she was doing. ...but a $5 cover to sing karaoke on a Thursday is a little hard to want to fork over when three other places down the street do it for free, and attract a bigger crowd.

Best electronic music venue in Portland! Also my favorite Karaoke night! Great sound system with a dive bar atmosphere and a crowd of regulars that make you feel like family even if you're new. They have a nice variety of drinks for fairly reasonable prices and an ATM on the premises. Well worth a stop if you like to dance.
