82nd street theatre has been contacted multiple times about their discriminatory audition process for children. Not only do they make the question about a child's weight a requirement, they also have the audacity to ask (another required question) where the child goes to church and how often they attend! This theatre gives community youth theatre a bad name!
As a voice teacher I am SHOCKED that 82nd Street Theatre asks questions about weight and religion on an audition form. These questions are required to be answered in order for the CHILD to audition. Unbelievable.

I love doing plays here! Best community theater around! I made lots of new friends and learned a lot from past experiences. I'm currently doing Lion King Jr and I can't wait til the show starts! This theatre definitely deserves a 5 star rating!
The best place for your child if they’re interested in theater. I’ve only seen one play, my child was in it and it was absolutely amazing. We are definitely here to stay and plan to continue be part of future plays and events. I highly recommend
