Killarney Lake Picnic Area

A great spot for an easy hike on Bowen Island. The picnic area is well-equipped with picnic tables and washrooms, making it convenient for a relaxing day outdoors.

After walking off the ferry, it took us 45 minutes to reach the picnic area. We sat at a bench rather than one of the picnic tables as it had a better view of Killarney Lake. We had some snacks for lunch from our backpack.

Lovely views of the lake and mountains from here. Pretty quiet on a weekday. We saw a few groups but they were spread out. Worth the walk from the ferry.

There are benches and toilets available near the tranquil lake. Garbage bins are also provided for proper disposal. The area is ideal for birdwatching, and there are forestry trails to explore. It's worth noting that mosquitoes can be present even in cold weather, and there may be more of them during the summer months.

Very beautiful place. Enjoyed our walk around the lake.
