Archaeological Museum of Rhodes

Dieser Ort ist am Eingang von der Innenstadt der Altstadt und wird beim Kauf der Tickets für den Großmeisterpalst mit angeboten. Preis für Palast und Museum 10 Euro. Kinder sind frei...unsere waren 14 Jahre und sind auch so mit rein. Kleines Museum muss man nicht unbedingt sehen. Den Palast schon wegen seiner Größe ist ein "Muss"! zum Erkunden.

Kann man sich antun. Wir finden den Garten und die Architektur besonders schön. Die Exponate sind oft nur mäßig beschildert und wenig hilfreich. Kinder bis 17 kommen kostenlos rein. Im Sommer ist es trotz (oder wegen?) der Steinmauern auch im Museum heiß.

A def place to visit when in Rhodes. It's truly spectacular. The whole old city is magic. The museum looks small from the outside but it is huge. It's got so many levels. The art pieces of pottery and smaller items are truly unbelievable. So many centuries ago they thought of all these pieces. A small break on one of the levels at the cafe we stopped for a cold drink, I decided for a granita and the mrs a Greek frappe and a Greek sweet. The garden area is so luscious behind all the wall structures , you would not think it was there. So many beautiful pieces of marble and rock structures were a Site to see. Some of the head stones of the period were great to see with so much detail. A must see. When you buy a ticket for the palace, add a couple more and get tickets for the museum as well. Both are a must visite

Der Garten war sowas von ungepflegt, in allen Ecken haufenweise abgestorbene Pflanzenreste und Sand. Die Mosaike waren abgesperrt damit niemand drauftreten kann, aber da wächst ordentlich das Gras raus in den dreckigen Zwischenräumen. Aber im Innenhof, da Wachen zwei Personen damit niemand auf die Lose aufgetürmten Steinkugeln sitzt. Aber die 6 Euro Eintritt waren es wert.Es gibt auch eine Kombi Karte für den Großmeister Palast.

A classic archaeological museum with many finds, beautiful mosaics and myriads of statues. There is also a nice garden. The ticket costs 6 euros and the visit lasts about 30 minutes.

It's worth a visit!! We bought the ticket for 10 euros to visit both the palace and all the museums. This museum was amazing! Just go! BUT, I think it was 2 exhibitions that close around 17.00 though the museum itself close at 20.00 so go before 17 if you want to check out one of these specific exhibitions, you can have a look at the website when they are open.
