Pizzeria Defina

Had take out, and perhaps it would have been better dining in, but we were staying pretty much right next door, so the pizzas were still hot, it was good, but maybe it was overhyped by our friends.

Really lovely place! Food is fantastic, especially the pizza! Seasoned very well and the dough was amazing.
Also I would like to point out the great playlist We enjoyed some very good songs, chill and upbeat at the same time!
Overall, great place, great food and great music!

Charming location, great staff (everyone was quick and efficient even on a busy Friday evening) and the food tasted amazing. Big portions, everything was fresh, flavorful and delicious. We loved our pizzas (that roasted kale on top of my pizza?! Perfection!). I also especially enjoyed the baked eggplant - not so small plate. Such a unique combination and so tasty.

The restaurant is a place for a date night. You can see the cooks prepare the pizza right in front of you as you have a direct view of the kitchen. The lights are low and the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. We ordered the Mission and the Wild Mushroom. Both pizzas were incredible, I ordered an additional pizza to take home. The ingredients were so simple yet so fresh. The service was amazing. I plan to return again soon.

The food and atmosphere was top tier. Probably the best pizza i’ve ever had if i’m being honest. Gluten free option was also appreciated as my girlfriend has celiac disease.

Service was good too, though it was noted that the manager was being quite short and rude to his staff. The waitstaff was being polite and asked the manager/owner a question in which he responded in a very demeaning manner, and I’m pretty sure everyone in earshot took notice. 5/5 for the food and waitstaff/cooks, and a solid 1/5 for the owner/manager.

I had a real pizza maybe five years ago. Since then, it’s been a failed experiment in finding a gluten and dairy-free pie that doesn’t taste like chewy cardboard with plastic “cheese”. Until now.
Still no cheese, but Defina’s gluten-free crust is just excellent in texture and taste. Our server, Robert, was so lovely and accommodating. I know where to get my fix now.

After calling many many places around toronto to find a lasagna and finding out its a hard endeavor, Defina came through. They had a frozen lasagna that would feed your entire family. The amount of cheese and meat in it was more than perfect. They even provided us with cooking instructions. Did us good on movie night. Highly recommend this place!
