Wanted to try the more popular one opposite, but it was too crowded. Luckily, Ong Kee did not disappoint with its flavorful hor fun, rice and chicken. Some of us had multiple servings and the drinks were fine too. Balls were so so
Staff did take awhile to clear our table even though we had 8 pax waiting at an obviously used table

Ipoh’s famous Ong Kee chicken rice. Ordered half a chicken (I always do that), beansprout and meatball soup.

Chicken rice - portion is questionable, half a chicken? Really? I really doubt so or their chicken is tiny. 😔 chicken tasted bland, no ginger sauce to go with it but chili (self served) is good - not in pics. Their soy sauce that came with the chicken is not over powering, slightly on the sweeter side.

Rice is fluffy and fragrant. Portion is in the smaller side.

Beansprout - truly the highlight of the day! Crunchy and juicy.

Place is without AC and parking is like lottery. 😒 service was very fast. Cleanliness is poor. Not very comfortable to say the least. Mostly Burmese workers but with local Chinese bosses.

Beansprout is the bomb! The sauce that comes with it compliments is really well. I like. 👍

One of the famous restaurant serving hainanese styled poached chicken in Ipoh. We had our first lunch here. The place was very crowded when we visited but quickly gotten our seats as the turnover of the place was pretty fast. The poached chicken wasn’t really fantastic. We thought it was a tad too blend. The rice wasn’t as fragrant as we would like them to be. It tasted like a really normal plate of chicken rice. Interestingly, the dish that stood out was the lightly marinated bean sprouts. They were truly crunchy and we couldn’t stop eating it after we started. Prices were reasonable. Public parking are readily available outside the shop but during meal times, may have difficulty finding lots.

Steam chicken was ok.
Not the best.

A/C inside. Fast service.

Steam chicken, bean sprouts, cabbage, fish ball ( 5 PC) and rice noodles soup.

Seems like mostly tourist in the restaurant.
I want to have where local people goes..:(

1 rice, 1 drumstick and 1 Chinese tea for RM 17. Chicken was not tender as expected. Nothing special. Sauce was very very salty. Chilli sauce also have to self service. Just normal coffee shop environment, no air-con. Not recommended and won't visit again

Famous with over 60 years of history serving Steamed Chicken Rice and Bean Sprouts, many celebrities have visited and dined here too.

We bought a whole chick. You serve us with undercooked chick, you wanna show me how fresh is your chicken is it? The blood stain are everywhere. Ewwwewwww! It can be contaminated with Campylobacter, Salmonella… Last but not least, we takeaway two flat noodles and one whole chick, only a small pack of chili sauce given 🥲🥲🥲
